FA Cup Preliminary Round

Recommended Posts

That's strange as I attended a Kentish Town reunion recently and every former player present including Dave Dawson, Jonathan Donoghue, Mark Doyle and Javier Rivera stated catagorically that they were promised money by the former Manager which was never forthcoming

Seems to me that you have been answered already Rhodes. If these players have a gripe are they too mouselike to sort it out themselves if there really is anything to sort out? Perhaps if they need you for a champion its a lost cause already.

When will this nonsense be brought to an end?

Who gives a rats [****!!****] about the money - the winnings wouldn't have even covered a night out.

I have spent shed loads of my own money to play for Kentish and often give up hours of my family time (bearing in mind that most of last season I was living 100 miles away from my family during the week and only had Sat/Sun with them). Its about the love of the game and committment to your club. There is plenty of money to be had at any level of football and that doesn't buy team spirit.

Rant over smile

WillotheCat - Yes but a promise is a promise, it was more the principle than the money itself as the players concerned loved the Club to bits and would have happily played for nothing. When the Manager reneged and went back on his word they felt badly let down.

Mr Tesco - Well seven or eight players can't be wrong can they, I gather the Manager even 'flashed the cash' in the dressing room before one game, taking out a wad of notes from his pocket and holding them up in the air, so I was told.

This still going on is it? Has Rhodes recollected on that nice Mr Chamberlain yet? How he came back from Germany waving that bit of paper about? Shouting "peace in our time". Well it wasn't, was it?

You wait Mr Chamberlain, you just wait, Rhodes will sort you out.

Hang on..What about them nasty colonials? Sticking our tea in the drink? OO - you lot just wait too....

Mr Rhodes if you would like to attend one of our home matches and speak to the former manager concerning your remarks about his character, then he would be more than happy to sit and speak with you, that is if you can do this face to face. But I just get the feeling that you would not have the courage to do this.....as has been said before, very brave behind the computer, but when it comes to faceing your accused you seem to let your self down. So the offer is there, come to copthall and he will answer all your accusations over a cup of tea, otherwise leave the club alone and let us get on with what we do in peace and quite. I will now go back into my shell and concentrate on the football season..........by all.

No wonder Rhodes has been sacked from three clubs, they can't stand him posting such rubbish on here as it gives the clubs a bad reputation.

He won't even answer if he would like to meet the manager, just simply change the subject!!!

I'm more than happy to meet the Manager at a future fixture this season, is it okay if I bring the likes of Jonathan Donoghue, Mark Doyle, Javier Rivera, Paul Butler, Shake Cole, Dave Dawson, Roberto Quattromini and Clement Temile with me as I believe they were all present when the former Manager held up the wad of notes. I'm assured it happened although I'm afraid I couldn't tell you whether they were tens or twenties, I doubt they were fifties.

You've been politely invited to discuss your enquiry and allegations Rhodes. Why do you constantly push it? Put up or shut up, I'll look forward to hearing whether you had the guts to face the person you so happily maligned.
