Hoddesdon Town V Royston Town FA CUP, FRIDAY NIGHT

Recommended Posts

It's the greatest show on earth!!!!!

Ok well, maybe not but its probably the (only) tie of the day tomorrow night!!!

Who will be travelling down to Hertingfordbury Park to take in this game? Quite a few neutrals I'd expect. I think I might be on the gate too so if you tip me the wink, I'll get you in for...well....the normal price. Now thats a bargain!!!

Roll up, roll up, who's comin??

NeutralFan - You seem to get around, what line of work are you in again as you must be on a nice little earner.

Whatever his remuneration is, it is all legal, unlike some,eh Rhodes?

BTW Rhodes, what is it with you and your fascination of other peoples earnings?

Keeps - It's not a fascination, more of an interest, however I'm still not convinced that you and Mrs Keeps are on a combined salary of 160k a year. I know that you both drive top of the range 'his and hers' motors, enjoy two or three holidays a year and your children want for nothing but something doesn't quite add up, why waste so much of your time on here and play the fool when the World seems to be your oyster.

You can't beat the magic of the FA Cup and this was a scrappy game in the first half. 2nd half hoddy tried their best to get a goal but couldn't get a clear cut chance.

Good Programme and only

PeterPan1 - Yes it goes without saying that I will be at Lowfield on 12 September and am looking forward to being welcomed with open arms by Jonno, if he isn't working or playing golf that is. I take it he was at Hertingfordbury Park on Friday evening, it sounds as if the match report has his mark on it.

I notice at the beginning of this report there is mention of Hoddesdon playing flowing football. This is not to say they don't because they do!

On this night however, not a single team in the SSML could play flowing football on this pitch. Not only did the weather play a big part but I had to look closely to find grass in amongst the weeds. Bobbles a-plenty. Royston, a team who like to play to feet had no choice but to play long balls. For all I know this and the bobbled conditions may have suited the lillywhites??

A shame it did not go to a reply as at least the two sides would have been able to play football. achso

Think whoever writes the reports for Hoddy used to edit Roy of the Rovers, always seems to report a totally different game to what it actually was, and if his report had any truth Hoddy would be playing the likes of Man Utd, Spurs and Arsenal, he makes them sound that good.

Tip for you Hoddies....SACK YOUR REPORTER, he's gonna b done for fraud!!!
