Ramsgate FC will stage two benefit matches this week to raise money for a much-loved club member.

 

Steve McClean, 47 suffered a heart attack in Spain the day after the Under 14s played in the Catalonia Trophy final.

 

It was followed by a major stroke, which meant that he couldn't return to the UK for ten weeks.

 

As a younger man Steve played for Ramsgate as a tenacious midfielder and now finds himself in another fight.

 

Steve also played for Margate and spent seasons at Hartsdown Park before he went to Southwood in the 1980/81 season and last pulled on the red shirt for a Ryman

Yea very sad JJ, has been in local paper too, lets hope the Rams fans go out and fully support the evening.
