This was the first league game I have been able to get to, and I thought it was a positive performance, great improvement on last season, mostly kept the ball on the ground with some tight, quick passing, some (too many) chances missed in front of goal, which would have sealed the 3 points we deserved. fairy tail ending for WAbbey though with old Ricky player levelling on 90 mins.

(No bottle of wine yet Brian !)

For our "Never say die attitude" we deserved a point. Although you had the lions share of the posession you didn't really trouble our keeper. All in all quite an entertaining game.

Ultimately we were made to pay for not taking one of the countless chances created, especially during the second half.

Plenty of possession and some nice build up play but one goal is never enough and we were caught by the sucker punch.

Impressed with Flackie and Shinn though.

Another late goal has cost us points but as stated above it is our wastefulness in front of goal that has cost us dear. I would like to see Baker (if he's fit) given a start with Flackie on Saturday. I'm sure most of us would have hoped for more than 5 points from the four opening fixtures we had.

At least we are creating some chances though and still trying to play some decent football when we can - Saturday will be a tough game but we need a win really.

I would like to thank Mr Hill Piling for his fine gesture regarding the shirts - let's hope he gets a good showing when the TV programme comes out.

Wot saves DB? according to Abbeyman, their keeper was not troubled.

I have got to say, I came away feeling we had lost and not drawn the game but on reflection was happy with our application on the park. We worked hard, played hard and some of our football was very good...just the issue of wasting chances in front of goal.

Onwards and upwards, there was a lot that happened on the pitch that on reflection should make us very happy. It's difficult to reason what will happen at this time during the season because a lot of teams are still fresh and full of running...lets see what happens when the weather makes pitch's sticky and teams will find it hard to put people behind the ball... then we'll see the quality of our side come through.

Since we seem to be playing it round more on the floor this year, it would be nice to capitalise on the good pitches we have at the mo.

When the pitches do deteriorate, so may our passing?

To be fair this game should have been in the bag at half time. All during the 2nd half i thought we are letting them play and in doing so gave the game to them.

One or two of the new signings seem hell bent on showing skills rather than passing the ball or striking first time. (please let this stop)

I agree Jo Flack played a blinder again last night and the WAbbey keeper pulled off some pretty impressive saves.

We have waited during pre season for the Pitches to recover from the damage of last season & i don't see why we should now wait for the pitches to get sluggish again, The quality is on the pitch already but they just need to start playing as a team (which most of the lads seem to be doing) having players shouting and arguing only helps the opposition as was proven last night seemed a silly trap to fall into and WAbbey reaped the rewards of a point.

Shinn -inio what a super player great chap to watch.

All down to interpretation of "not troubled"... despite all the pressure that you applied, you shooting was very wayward and from direct shots at him he was not troubled. That is not to say that he didn't work hard, as he did... Does that make sense ?

I would say that he made 2 excellent saves - one diving to deny Shinn soon after our goal, and one good reaction stop to deny Flack late on. He was also rescued by a defender when he came for and missed a corner that Dormer headed goalwards.

Somewhat more troubled than Walker....

I agree the trouble last night as against hendon was that although the build up was fine the finish let us down. However I would point out that both goals against have come in the last5-10 mins and both from moves down the right (our left). Do we need to learn something from this?

I felt a bit like Gazza after this game, it felt like a loss, although I couldn't complain about the performance we gave, it was very much like the Hendon game, except we didn't lose.

I think at times, after we had scored, we were sitting back again and allowing the pressure come to us when we really should have kept pressing on and win the game, which is something we need to do when we are playing at home.

Yiga and Wareham done well when they came on again, I might consider starting with Yiga and Spencer Knight on the flanks. I also think we missed James Baker as an attacking option last night, Flacky and Bricknell looked exhausted towards the end of the game, anyone know where Baker was?

The result was a disappointment but the signs are looking good with some great passing football. Don't like to single out players from a good team performance but Flack and Shinn were both superb.

Let's hope we can adopt a "killer instinct" and put away more of the chances being created.

There's a long way to go and I believe we can be in there with a shout at the end of the season

I would like to see Yiga and Wareham given a chance to start. Yiga slipped in a great pass to Billy which was unfortunately fluffed. He also offers a bit of height in attack. Wareham's second half show at Cray was the best bit of attacking play I have seen so far. I think Billy & Joe look on good form but I think someone else(Manulla or Muir?) should get a chance in mid field instead of Jamie Dormer.I like Jamie but he seems a bit lost in the last couple of games.

Change 3 of our midfield four?...A big gamble that one given that we have created sooo many chances, and have for the most part been defensivly solid

We do need more goals though, so it'll be interesting to see if we stick or twist. A really tough call imo...I think I would 'probably' stick, but my knowledge of the finer detail of football is minor, so we may see wholesale changes as described by onthesidelines.

I too would like to see Wareham and Manuella promoted, at the expense of Sullivan and I'm afraid to say Dormer. I think Jamie has lost a little bit since losing the captaincy. Not a big fan of wholesale changes but Baker has impressed too, Flack has got to play, he and Bricknell are cut from the same cloth.
