MFC vs Boreham Wood ........

thought the first ten minutes we looked promising, after that we fell apart and looked confused and seemed to gift BW a somewhat dubious goal. Steve west impressed but was hobbling after about 35 minutes and was substitued at the start of the second half - bring on Mr Dunn, his first touch was good and I maybe wrong but I think he scored both goals. We still look very disjointed as a team and that needs to change FAST, losing Curtis Robinson is a blow, and think TY should play him in his favoured position as we need his skill in defence. Its a shame Mr Dunn will only get to play three games for us, cos he seems to know where the goal is, on a plus note if BW stay the way they are we wont be below them for long cos they were worse than us..... even their Chairman commented to as much.

Hi Sutton Fan here, just back from our game at Hendon. We thought you would like Billy, he has pace something you were sorely missing against us. You can't keep him BTW but use well in the next 2 games and you could get some more. Ashford and Kinstonian look poor so although you won't be world beaters this season you can survive if you roll your sleeves up.

Good luck except against us smile

Billy is a fav of mine but the reason he is with you is that he needs to improve his play off the ball. With it he can be a match winner as you saw today but without it he seems lost, so he has been used and very effectively as a impact player coming off the bench. He is just out of youth football and still finding his feet in the mans game and he can not only be very frustrating to watch at time but can also get very frustrated himself hence the ban. He has bags of talent and potential, today your hero but when you need 11 defenders and find you only have 10 and one lost waiting for the ball to come to him to might see the otherside of him.

Who knows you might be able to keep him longer, it depends on how it works out for player and both clubs? You can also have Steve Watts for a month if you like as long you pay his wages and don't mind a guy on crutches smile

Great result blues, i hope this builds our confidence up. Sadly due to other commitments and lack of funds i haven't been able to watch Margate this season....YET! but hopefully when i do we are still winning and playing good football, because when i saw us play against Ashford when we played football and we played it well. Well done BLUES!!!! Onwards and upwards

UP THE GATE!!!!!

First 10 minutes: very promising. When we played proper football, keeping it on the deck, they just didn't have an answer to it, and it looked only a matter of time before we scored. But then we stopped trying to play football, and after that we were poor. Poor performance overall, but the result is all that matters, and it was a crucial three points.

West didn't do a great deal, but he looked to be struggling from quite early on, so I'll reserve judgement for now. Dunn looked a willing runner and was generally quite impressed with him. Capped it with an absolutely stunning winner. Even their keeper commented that no-one would have saved that.

But I'm sure the Wood will be kicking themselves. They had enough chances to finish the game long before we nicked the winner. With a half-decent striker, they would have bagged themselves 4 or 5 yesterday. We had 2 chances - 3 tops - and got 2 goals out of it. Unfortunately, for them, that's football! How often have we been on the receiving end of a sucker-punch like that? So it's about time we started dishing some out!

Fair play to Mullin, thought he had a decent game yesterday. Made a very good save with his legs in the second half, and on a number of occasions came out to good effect to clear the danger. Well played. Defence still looks very suspect though: you can imagine a top striker like Jolly really have a field day against us. Midfield also still looks a bit lightweight. Definitely need a Beech-esque player to just sit in there and break up play. Not good to see Curtis come off on a stretcher... here's hoping he was just feigning it 'cos he wanted to go home and watch the cricket! But, in all seriousness, hope it isn't a bad injury, as he is without doubt one of our brightest stars.

So, all in all, poor performance, but who cares? Got our first three points, now let's build on it and get a win on Monday!

Cracking winner from Dunn. It wasn't a spectatcular game though, but we thoroughly deserved the win.

Couple of bad bits to pick up on though - Bernard looked great going forward, but when we lost the ball, he didn't seem to keen to track back, leaving a gaping hole down the left; Robinson got injured playing in a position that he shouldn't have been paying in; and Lewis seemed to prefer giving the ball away to giving it to his colleagues. Also, we should have had a penalty, Blackman was pulled down in the box, not on the edge of it, but as usual, the ref was crap

Regards to the penalty, listening to Gate Radio, the Boreham Wood second goal should probably have been allowed so maybe things even up in the end? Was not at the match only heard it so what is the general view of the disallowed goal?
