More pre-season friendly news

Recommended Posts

Well Rob.

"Internal upheaval" eh? Wassatsposedtamean? Did the home fans trash The New Den?

Once more to the Beaverie as well. always pleased to help out old friends. And Arlesey. Old friends there, too, I hear.

Now you know me, Rob. I've no truck with that squad rotavation stuff. None of that keep t'lads fresh rubbish. These people are highly trained professional athletes. 3 games each week from the beginning of July. Two training sessions from 6.30 until 10.30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a 15 mile run on Sunday mornings. Get them fit, Rob. Fitness is the key.

Any chance of a few more friendlies, Rob?

AFF - Indeed. GHA - I think Cookie was referring to during the season, 2 games a week could be detrimental. Pre season, the aim is to increase general fitness and match sharpness, therefore the more games you play, the better this gets (in theory obviously!)

Or perhaps we just love going to Hampton?!??

Thanks for that contribution, Brew.

It should be said that there is a a maximum number of games in a week that should not be exceeded, Brew. If it was my decision, 5 games per week from the beginning of July would be the limit. And if we were to play that many, the training sessions should be cut from three hours to two and a half.

So on the coaching side, there's Cookie, then Shrek and Castle from the 1st Team, Kevin and Vince from the Reserves, and that chap who manages the midweek Yoof.

If they are still short, I'll come along to help although my personal coaching knowledge is better suited to the oval shaped ball. I'm pretty good at laying a straight line of cones, though. Won't come amiss.
