BLUES NEWS . . . FORTHCOMING CHANGES

Since we started producing Blues News, John and myself have tried to improve it with each edition. We believe we have been quite successful in this and have been well please with the results we have achieved. However, even with the increase in advertising we now enjoy, an awful lot of the money raised by this goes in paying the printing costs and hitting our efforts to raise money for the club.

So to continue to improve the magazine, we proposed to the MISA Committe that we take the magazine into full colour (an undertaking that would be impossible with the prices charged commercially to do this). So we proposed that we buy a printer and produce the magazine completely ourselves. This has been accepted by the Committee, and the printer has been purchased.

So the next issue of Blues News, will (hopefully) be the NEW IMPROVED BLUES NEWS and that it will receive all the support you have given us over the previous 5 editions.

We have also come to the conclusion, judging by comments on the forum and verbally from buyers, that we have been under charging for the magazine. In response to this John and myself would like some response from you as to what to charge for it. At the moment we feel that

It should look very different from the programme so that people buy both. How much collaboration is there between MISA and Steve Ball? The official programme MUST continue to be the lead publication for the club as it is a league requirement to produce one.

Are both publications sold at the same place / time?

But Blues News has to be worth

Selling both together at a slight discount is a good idea - I believe a lot of league teams do this. Of course, I don't know how much each single unit is to produce so don't actually know if this would eat greatly into the money given to the club?
