Yes, I'm looking forward to the vast knowledge of football management and coaching that Rhodes possesses being put forward for "real" managers to examine.

Craig and Mick have their reasons for moving on and that's fair enough. They will be missed BUT I wouldn't go writing of Cranfield completely.

A disappointing start to the season, yes but a poor start to the season, no! 1 loss and 2 draws in the league and a day to forget in the FA cup. Both of the draws could and maybe should have been wins and the loss saw very good chances to take a 3 or 4 goal lead squandered before switching off completely for 5 minutes in the second half.

There are plenty of games to come and the squad is better this season than last so lets wait a while before making judgement. Unfortunately expectations within the club may have been too high and this certainly wont have helped the management team. I'm sure a manager will be appointed soon and by then a win at the weekend may leave the team in a more respectable position.

Connell is a great motivator of men similar to David Craig at Cockfosters when he was there, these sort of people are worth their weight in gold to Club's at our level

Be surprised if Rhodes ideal didn't keep the "How to insult people and alienate other clubs" manuals by Jim Davidson in their kit bag.

NewBradwell - Okay lets get back to normality now after Loosely and Special1's nonsense, here are some of my definitions of a good Football Manager:

1. He will protect the best interests of his Club at all times.
2. He will create a solid structure to recruit, select and develop a youth programme which is a must at all Clubs.
3. He will keep up to date with the latest football developments; techniques, tactics and fitness, attending Courses and Workshops where necessary.
4 He will delegate as best he can as he can't do everything on his own as your predessessor Steve Orchard found but there was nobody to delegate to.
5. He will be a friend, father figure and psychologist to his players and there for them 24 hours a day.
6. He will know his best 11 players at all times, will create a flexible tactical system in order to take advantage of his players strengths and weaknesses.
7. He must be a student of the game and an excellent human resources Manager with sound knowledge in conflict resolution and open minded to understanding players from different backgrounds, religions, cultures and races.

I'm sure Paul Connell has all of these attributes and far more besides.
