On the basis of Bowen-Hasse being on a contract as well as Edwards I suspect the wage bill is considerably more than last season

Why do people assume that because a player is on a contract that they are getting paid mega money.

 

At this level contracts are there for one reason, because the club feel that the player can play at a higher level and are hoping that they can get something for them, not because they are paying mega money.

Mal has hit the nail on the head there. If NBH was not on contract we'd be getting 7-day approaches every week as well!

Yes but a player even at this level doesn't sign a contract if he is being paid peanuts and usually is the highest paid player in the club. To say the wage bill is the same as last season is not true.

No one from the club at the end of the day is going to come out and say this that and other regarding the budget, at the end of the day its up to the board and the chairman how they want to spend the money.

If we had a bigger budget, we'd probably have held on to Yashwa Romeo. Steve Bateman specifically stated that letting him go was a decision he had to make to balance the books, did he not?

Whilst as a Mod I'm all for it being registered only, some of the others aren't.

 

At the end of the day if people stopped taking the bait then we wouldn't have a problem. Some of the people on this board can't help but bite. It would be nice to have a thread actually about the topic at hand some time!

Some of the mods have done a fair bit of biting too.
It must be because they enjoy the peurile anons posts that they don't want to make it registered only.
