Slough Town v Burnham

Perhaps, but you could also take the view that Burnham are effectively Beaconsfield from last year who missed out in the play off semi finals. Hardly a bad side to lose too really.

Jarvis is a good manager and gets his teams playing well. The reason this seems like a massive deal so early on in the season is the fact it is a derby.

If you look at the archive tables from the last 2/3 seasons for the Midlands league it is possible to get a play off place as long as you don't lose more than 10 games over the season. Slough have lost 1, is that something to panic about at this stage of the season? Will this team lose 10 games this season? I don't think so.

Well,Tom.I hope you're right because if we gift teams two goal advantages like Saturday and cannot take our opportunities,as we did last night,we won't just lose ten we'll lose more!

Pushing Edgeworth up behind the front two works well as was seen in pre-season - he has the ability to head and win the ball and then to set up the forwards with opertunities.

However for these first two games he has played deeper and hence the opertunities have been few.

Think we need to play 4-4-2 with a diamond mid field to allow Sinclar and Keen to come up the sides, Edge to sit in behind the forwards and then someone in front of the backs to feed the balls up the field. It would almost be 5 defenders and 5 attackers. It may leave a few gaps occasionally but it would create a lot more goals. Also it would need forwards who can score, and that is what is not happening at the momment.

lots of good football played in the first half , and to be honest not much between the teams...a deflected free kick , which should have never been awarded , the player dived, then poor graham turned in a horror display in the 2nd half...

but head up ...we will sort it...

So the jury is out till the 10 game mark and what then if Bateman is doing the same as sweetman then what change the manager, dont you think you should keep the same manager for a couple of seasons at least give them a chance.

i think we looked bloody shocking tuesday,we have no leader on or off the pitch.the new players from hemal reserves look like thay dont give a toss and i dont think the manager just standing there saying nothing inspiers the players very much.we should never have got rid of sweetman or half the players from last year.sort ths out now

Our budget isnt too high? Most of these guys were earning fortunes in the division above last year. Have they come for the love of the game? Wake up...... Slough are going for it big time and backing Bateman to the hilt.... Good luck with the gamble.

Wrong!!

Our budget is the same as last season and we will not budge form this budget.

This match is old hat now, but in the first half it was fairly even. Slough had three good chances which were about 80% and should have scored two. Second half Burnham were better but scored two fortunate goals. We showed some real fight at Leighton in the second half and that has been missing. We are better than last year, but we will see how much better after a few more games. I believe in this team.

Up the Rebels!
