QE

lovely stuff

I think there are panic comments being made with regards to the QE use.

No doubt various organisations will use the athletics track for 'sports days' and some other day time events. I can't see how this can clash with evening training and weekend football, when ETFC are the primary users of the site that would otherwise be a housing development by now. Football is what prevented this.

If of course others use the facilities then great, as they'll see where ETFC exist and raise awareness of our club as well as them possibly using the bar facilities etc etc. Afterall we suppoosedly a club in the community therefore in which case the site should be used as much as possible and hopefully we can benefit from this

Panic? Hardly a panic, simply some questions have been raised, on some fairly fundemental issues. Unfortunately some members can't get to meetings and are unaware what questions are raised there, but a report to members would be handy, in fact probably legally necessary.

From what little has been announced, it doesn't seem to me that ETFC are "primary users" but one of a number. This may be incorrect of course but it all depends of the terms of the lease (obviously). If it is indeed the case that we get bar profits from other users, excellent news.

I think Invis raised some good questions.Yes it isn't ideal that we don't have full control over the entire facility, but the upside is that a lot of the costs and outgoings of running and maintaining a site that big will be met by Enfield council.Plus with local football clubs using the changing facilities and runners and schools using the track it does increase our revenue chances through our own cafe/bar.I think we do need a full time presence at the stadium in the future especially when other events are going on to make sure our facilites (those that are specifically and soley intented for our football club) are not used without permission.

Another slight concern is the use of the changing rooms by local football clubs. At present, saturday afternoon league teams change in the stadium. It certainly wouldn't be acceptable to have them using the facility as the same time as our matches are going on.

You just need a bar but I see your point. :icon29:

It seems one option being considered to reduce funding is for their to be no football at the site.Only athletics?? (even though that would mean losing a further 500k from the Football foundation. :smashfreakb: :monkey: :wtf:

Have these bright sparks in the council not considered another more sensible and viable option in reducing costs.Ie..Not spend 1/2 a milllion on a TRACK?? and just have it as a football stadium. :futbolbud2:

Have they thought about getting a move on before the price goes up?

Good shout LS

The report stated that Enfield & Haringay Athletics had moved to the new Lee Valley centre so why would they 'downgrade' to the QEII.

So apart from a few schools possibly using the track for sports day which is once a year i cant see why its so important to have the track.

It would surely make the council happier not having to spend £500k, it would make ETFC fans happy with no track, so....WHY???

The council have done little or nothing for football in the borough for decades. Why on earth would they start making football orientated decisions now. The personel change over the years but the attitude towards our club has remained consistantly negative.

Apologies for having a whinge!
