Sutton Coldfield v Slough Town

Solid point to start the season, regardless of whether we had few chances and they had a penalty dubiously awarded. Sutton Coldfield will be up there this season, but I think that -- given time -- the players we have can ensure we are also in the mix, even if it is for an outside stab at the play-offs.

Only disappointed to see Danny Jordan nowhere in the squad list. Shame about Yashwa, too -- seemed a good, pacy powerful forward who averaged a goal every other game in what could be argued a better league (and at the bottom end of it).

Bring on Burnham!!

Agree Chris cannot understand why the windsor inbreds come on our forum? Would be amazed if they could fill a coach to burnham even though it appears they have a strange affection towards them. Anyway enjoy your local derbys at AFC Hayes and bracknell!!

fair enough result imo although its of course annoying to lose a 2-0 half time lead

we didn't really create enough chances to win a game but had we of course we woulda been delighted

again we only really saw glimpses of how good we can/could be in the future but its a good battling start and we did not crumble as much as we would used to have last season and few seasons before that

its not always the best thing to put blame on the ref but from where i was i thought Kean had moved his arm towards the ball but i was not at all sure the ball had made contact with his arm

i am still totally confused as to how the blatant push was not given as a pen and straight after that it appeared to be handball

think its a bit unfair to say Sinclair wasted a chance to win it wasn't a straight forward chance at all. Herron went so so close with a deflected shot

also very well done to Perks who made 2 superb saves at 2-0 that could well have rescued a point for us. when comparing what Perks had to save to what their keeper had Sutton Coldfield perhaps just about edged it

One very good thing to see was that once Sutton Coldfield got back into the game, we didn't get into that "here we go again" mentality. Instead we fought back to regain control of the game, and should have had the chance to win it from the penalty spot, if not from the other chances in the last 10 minutes.

It was a very good point against a team that was unchanged from last season that nearly made the play-offs. I would have taken a point before the game.

It will be an interesting match on Tuesday against Burnham.

Burnham might be looking decent up the front, however the defnece is pretty average. I watched them in pre season against Bedfont Green, I know it's only pre season but it was a full on starting 11. If you can defend you can take them on...

If all else fails give them some jearing about the players being promised but not yet paid!

Shame there wasn't Jordan and Harper. We may as well rename our team Hemel Hempstead as we are no longer Slough Town and what a disappointment Romeo has gone.

Windsorian there were about 120 Slough fans at yesterdays game as I made a point of counting so that would be the equivilant of 2+ coaches.

I see that there was a massive 105 at Cindiford, so Windsor travelled in numbers?

However it looks like it is not only the windsor players moving over to burnham but windsor fans, as there was a ground bursting 135 at the gore!

And before you put down your low numbers to it being holiday time, that is the same for all clubs.

So windsorian, how much has Jamie offered you to go and support burnham? - make sure it is cash up front!

Overall some good performances from Edwards(my MOM closely followed by Sinclair) Bowden-Haase and Herron.

Disappointing to let a 2-0 lead slip but in fairness it was a point gained because on chances created Sutton were by far the better team, only poor shooting let them down.

Very worrying that both forwards never had one attempt on goal.

Thomas Hayes has plenty of enthusiasm but not sure if he will score many goals.

Simon Martin had a totally ineffective game and IMO should have been subbed for someone like Tyron Sealey who would have injected a bit of pace and given the Sutton defence a lot more to worry about.

I'm content enough. Compare yesterday with the first two away results last season (abysmal 6-1 loss at North Leigh and 4-1 loss at Cinderford)and there is no comparison. As this new team plays together more, and no doubt with the odd adjustment here and there, they should improve.

Something I noticed that shows a more positive attitude, was the reaction of some of the team to the final whistle. Some were clearly disappointed that they hadn't won. Last season, if we hadn't collapsed to the fightback, they would have been content with a draw. This attitude is a good sign for better things this year.

Not been on forum for yonks, but thought I'd give opinion.

This could have been anyones game. Their Substitution was bang on. The big lad changed the game. We made the wrong substitution. Not saying Hayes was brilliant, but at least there seemed more spark and movement. Martin was a dissapointment.

If at the start of the game, we were offered a draw, we would have took it. These are one of the divisions better sides. And they are a settled side. Not sure their's was a pen, but we had a blatant one not given late on.

Where was DJ?

Windsor fans make me laugh.

" my response 6 mins your response 4 mins lol" Did the twat really say this, about a Slough Town supporter being quicker than him on a Slough town Fourm?

"Bet the coach wasn't full?" Actually laughed when I saw that post, sad pathetic turd! was obviously thinking more about Slough than his own team.

The care in the community scheme is obviously not working!

Surely it doesn't matter where the players come from if they are better than what we had? As for it not being our team, I'd be more concerned at who agreed to that quite horrid away kit! Not a Rebels strip at all.

I think the point he was making was Staines was saying he replied very quickly when he himself replied in a similar time.
