Gareth,how right you are,your uncle John Payne was a great guy and a power-house of a player for both the old EFC and England. As Steph confirms there is a picture in Alan Diment's excellent book 'Simply the E's'. Think Alan's sources of supply included Artricia Photographers, Fox Photos,plus local paper - the Enfield Gazette. If you give Sports Editor Dominique Stafford a quick call,he might be able to turn up some photos for you from their photo library. Hope this helps.Good luck.

Was it the NLP that ran an expansive article on the England amateur side not so long ago? I think I recall there may have been some photos of John within that.

BTW, the British Olympic Team to which I think SoB refers got mentioned in the national dailies. It is still on the Grauniad web site, but not in the detail that it was in some of the papers.
