I think that you will find that you have the wrong competition here! This is the Senior Challenge Cup, for the more senior placed clubs.

Horace - Thanks for pointing that out, why do the Hertfordshire FA have to make it so confusing

It's not confusing! Now you have a thread that doen't relate to the content.

Herts FA run various competitions, like most if not all County FAs.

for Saturday Men's Open Age clubs - Top of the pile is The Senior Challenge Cup (the draw for which you have shown here)

Then there's The Senior Trophy (otherwise known as the Centenary Trophy - for clubs like Hoddesdon, not senior enough for the Senior Cup!)

The Intermediate Cup

The Junior Cup

Then there's The Charity Cup, and

The Charity Shield

OK, maybe it is confusing!

... got called off sometime fairly early this AM - saw it on the StAlebuns website first .

Hitchin v Brox B in the Charity Cup was called off not long after - Mitoo SSML had 'em OFF by about mid-day I think.

... sorry still in the wrong thread

.......But at least my 'Herts' in the right place !:97:

Horace - This is exactly my point, you're well contacted in the corridors of power at the Hertfordshire FA in Letchworth aren't you and rub shoulders with the great and the good so can't you have a word with them to get the competitions renamed for next season. Anyway as you say the Hertfordshire Senior Centenary Trophy is for 'the Senior' Club's at Step 6 and below as opposed to the Senior Club's at Step 5 and above in the Hertfordshire Senior Challenge Cup:

First Round (31/10)

Evergreen 1 - 3 Metropolitan Police Bushey

Hadley 0 - 2 Tring Corinthians

Lemsford 4 - 0 Mill End Sports

Sun Postal Sports 1 - 5 Baldock Town

Wormley Rovers 2 - 1 Cuffley (aet)

Bovingdon 0 - 4 Wodson Park

Kings Langley 0 - 0 Sandridge Rovers (Kings Langley win 10-9 on pens)

Hertford Heath 1 - 6 Berkhamsted

Codicote 4 - 2 Harpenden Town

Second Round

Baldock Town 2 - 2 Wormley Rovers (Wormley win 3-1 on pens) (28/11)

Codicote 3 - 2 Tring Corinthians (28/11)

Wodson Park 5 - 2 Berkhamsted (12/12)

Lemsford 2 - 5 Chipperfield Corinthians (28/11)

Kings Langley 5 - 3 Croxley Guild (aet) (28/11/)

Park Street Village 0 - 1 London Colney (28/11)

London Lions 2 - 0 Standon & Puckeridge (5/12)

Hoddesdon Town 3 - 1 Metropolitan Police Bushey (aet) (28/11)

Quarter Finals (16/1)

London Colney v Hoddesdon Town (15.00)

Wodson Park v Kings Langley

Chipperfield Corinthians v Codicote

Wormley Rovers v London Lions (15.00)

Semi Finals (6/2)

London Colney or Hoddesdon Town v Wodson Park or Kings Langley

Wormley Rovers or London Lions v Chipperfield Corinthians or Codicote

Final (16/3)

HTFCew - Before Football Man posts a cumbersome link here you may want to check the 16 January as London Colney, Hoddesdon Town and Kings Langley are all scheduled, on Football Mitoo, to be playing League games that day

Of course I will Cliff - shall I quote you as saying that their names for their competitions are not to your personal satisfaction?

I quite fancy Codicote to beat Chipperfield Corinthians and to reach a Semi final would be a huge achievement for the Club

Horace - In all seriousness will you do this, I have demonstrated how ridiculous and confusing the situation is in the four threads which you have admitted to yourself

In all seriousness - no - the clubs involved understand it well enough.

Horace - Do they though, I bet if you formally consulted them at least 90% would say they didn't have a clue.

Hardly, the format has been the same for many years, and club secretary's are well used to entering the appropriate competitions. Further, Herts FA have an excellent Competitions Secretary, who ensures that eveeryone enters the right one.

Your imagination knows no bounds, as usual.

.. and a Happy New Year

Horace - You're contradicting yourself as even you said it was confusing in a post you made on Monday. It's not only about the Club's involved but the supporters and groundhoppers who take a keen interest and attend the matches, they want to be clear what competition it is and the ambiguity isn't doing them any favours.

Happy New Year

Oh how I'm going to regret that throwaway remark about it being confusing!

I wouldn't have the temerity to sugges to the County FA that they should consider supporters and groundhoppers!
