Comrades off to a flier!

A cracking start to the season by the new Berkhamsed FC with a 6-2 demolition of MK Wanderers. We even had to come from behind after the Wanderers took the lead from the penalty spot.

Top of the league? No chance! Well done to Aston Clinton for smashing 9 past Bletchley Town!

I take it you saw the report on another's Forum, a good result but one swallow doesn't make a summer does it, I would much rather win 9-1 away than 6-2 at home:

SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE DIVISION 2

Berkhamsted 6-2 MK Wanderers

Admission

So were you at Selbourne Avenue, I gather Bletchley are a very poor side and will probably win the wooden spoon again this season

Not the best side you will see this season.......didnt want to mention wooden spoon after the first game but some teams will have to go a long way to be that bad!

Taking nothing away from aston thou they played very well.

Looking forward to next weeks game, that should be a good test.

Bletchly awful, good player who scored the goal I think. He can play higher and is worth a shout.

Had a look at Tring Corinthians yesterday, good game, Tring played the better football but look a bit short in quality, told they had a few missing!! Will be a top half side along with Totternhoe who are more workman like.

Don't think you can see pass the Berko side, an outsider may could be Mursley. The present manager has been there a few seasons now and is going around his business in a quite manner, slowly developing a decent side. Pitstone will always be in with a shout, but tend to have weeks when a lot of players are missing.

2 short players up front, one dark haired lad and one blonde.... the best one (blonde) was clearly injured before kick off but lasted about 20 minutes before coming off.

The other lad dropped into midfield second half and tried to play but was over run.

to be honest both looked good and i havent a clue why they are wasting their team over there!?

like i said before this is going to be a very interesting divison!

A few records from last season have been beaten already this campaign, Berhamsted's attendance of 109 comfortably beats the highest gate from 2008-09 which was 89. Also Aston Clinton's 9-1 win at Bletchley Town beats the biggest away win (0-6 from 3 different clubs) and also the highest amount of goals scored from the away team, which was 7 by Hadley, ironically at Aston Clinton.

Spot on monkeymonkey8, both are good players stand out what is a bloody awful side, I like the dark haired one better but would sign both.

Recommended both to a Permier Manager, as development potential, both can play, both have vision, control, techinque etc etc, just need to learn the divsion. He just saw to short blokes and was interested in big lump who could head the ball and kick it out of play but hell he could battle.

That's the problem with the game at the moment managers will only play what they know and always look at what the player can't do and not what he can do. Negative before they start.

must admit i was very impressed with control of both players, very sharp, short movement!

Who are you refering to when you say about someone not noticing these players?

Also why im asking questions, how did you come about your view on the aston manager?

Most managers will only look at what they know, there is a lot of young talent in the lower divsions of the SML, Hellenic, Herts etc just needs someone to be brave.

Don't wish to get drawn into comments about individuals, it was poor wording on my part early on. I will apologise now for commenting. I think Aston will do well this season.
