with respect LC and past experience most home clubs only know their own players and can't be bothered to find out the oppositions scorers so just pluck one from the 16 as you well know.

Aren't home clubs in the ESL obliged to phone in the result of games with the names of BOTH teams scorers?

Yes you are quite right and an error was made and apologies have been accepted. Fortunately I was able to correct the Centre Spot before it was issued. Let's hope it was just first day nerves ?

August 17, 2002... Knowledge is the bomb.. smile

Coincidentally also the first day of the season.

They were in fact only top by virtue of the alphabet, as Southend Manor also won their opening game 4-1 that day.

Just to be really anal, Sawbo then drew 1-1 with Ilford on the Monday night to go a point clear. Southend Manor then beat Concord 3-2 on the Tuesday to go top.

So the last time Sawbo were top of the ESL was in fact Monday 19th August 2002, not the 17th.

Knowledge, or should I say Mitoo, is indeed the bomb!!! grin
