Good luck to Hertford Town this evening in the FA Cup against

Newport Pagnell Town, I see the game is featured on the FA Website:

Cor voiseur - Well try this one for size then from another's Forum. I can't help feeling that the Club would be a lot better organised if Horace and HTFCew were still involved at the sharp end:

Hertford Town 1-2 Newport Pagnell Town

FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round

Good game, Hertford unlucky not to get a draw.
Spent most the game in company of a nice gentleman who had some interesting stories to tell.

From the FA website "After seeing the club's Cup journey end prematurely in front of 211 people, Hertford star Joel Miller admitted afterwards the defeat was hard to take.

"The dream is over for another year," Miller said. "We played well but once we got the equaliser, they scored almost straight away and that proved to be the difference.

"I came on and went up front but we just couldn't get that much-needed goal."

Joel Miller? Who was that????

Keeps - I take it from that you were at Hertingfordbury Park last night, I hope you weren't queueing for chips at half time, did you see Horace.

Good luck today at Barkingside, you're probably going to need it the way Bowers & Pitsea are playing.

I thought that's where Bowers are playing today or is it tomorrow. I heard Tiptree United could have got double figures last Saturday.

Just a quick comment on this bit. The "aged Newport supporter" was the NPT club photographer. The home "fan" was someone we have never seen at Hertingfordbury Park before - and who will never be allowed to enter the ground again. As far as we could gather, before he was taken away, he hails from the Welwyn Garden City area, though didn't appear to have affiliations with any particular club.

That's what I thought when I saw him play his first game for the reserves on Wednesday night grin

Joel Miller is a LEGEND, FACT!!!

Joel played for Hoddesdon Town for many years and I'm glad I can call him a friend. An absolute diamond, whose knowledge of the game is unrivaled, from top to bottom. Having worked as a researcher for various media outlets, "Miller Dog" is my first point of call during the pub quiz when a footy question arises.

One of the nicest, most genuine people Ive ever had the pleasure of being around.

On a playing note, (and I hope he dont read this) Joel aint getting any younger and im very surprised to hear he is making appearances for Hertford Town First Team. Last time I spoke to him, I think he was playing for someone like Wodson Park or even Glaxo's team. He's very good friends with Pablo, both of them gracing Lowfield for a number of years together (with Joel scoring some of the most awesome goals ive ever seen), and despite the fact he is a very very intelligent player, I would say that the cut and thrust of the SSMFL, never mind the FA Cup, is a step beyond him these days.

On a side note, he once scored a goal for Hoddesdon and celebrated by climbing into a nearby wheely bin and closing the lid. Genius!!!

It is indeed Scotty. He is actually Pablo's assistant but as there have been a number of players unavailable recently he has been featuring in a number of games. Scored a belter against Bigg Utd last night!
