Who Will Win?

Recommended Posts

Jason Weinrabe is coaching out in South Africa I believe.

My contenders for the the prem would be

Chalfont St. Peter

Hertford Town

Broxbourne Borough

& possibly Brimsdown Rovers. They've made some good signings over the summer, so we could see a big rise up the table. Don't be surprised to see Royston Town up there either (even without Craig Hammond, Rhodesey !)

Relegation wise I think it's going to be between Kentish Town, WGC, Hillingdon Borough & sadly St Mags as all this uncertainty wouldn't have helped matters.

I agree with you on both counts, I never said that Royston were a one player team. Surely Kentish Town can't get out of jail again although somebody up there seems to be looking down on them.

New Bradwell, might be dark horses due to their huge catchment area, with better management and stadium might be able to push for title but need better management.could even finish as high as 4th

Comments noted Dobber but as the Manager not appreciated. I wonder if the fact that you made sure you mentioned that twice it might be personal..and the fact you made Cranfield your choice for 2nd makes me think that evn more. Unless of course you don't know me then how do you know I'm not good enough? I can take criticism if it comes from an informed position.

The club will have to find a better assistant than an ex-professional then.

You may never have used the exact phrase but you have certainly implied it:

Sydney, dear boy.

How thoroughly disappointing that you didn't mention Harefield United in your list of contenders for the Spartan League championship. Have you taken leave of your senses? I said to my Daphne just this very evening.....has Sydney taken leave of his senses?

Daphne was very, very drunk though, so was unable to answer coherently.

I, too, have had the Chalfonts on my mind for some considerable time now so won't eliminate them from my thoughts, but Hertford.....Broxbourne.....Royston.....Brimsdown? Sir, may I politely suggest that the stress of managing the mighty Bishops has clouded your judgment slightly.

I shall be attending the victorious Hares encounter with Bedfont Green tomorrow evening and will expect you to duly reconsider your predictions.

It's a bloody disgrace.

As long as Stuart Reynolds is at Crawley Road the sky is the limit for Cranfield United but without him they are dead in the water, it's as simple as that.

Samuel, please accept my humble apologies for disregarding Harefields title chances. I'm sure The Hares will be up there with the others. I shall courier a bottle of sherry over to yourself & Daphne to soften the blow !

I think there are about a half a dozen that have left, but only two of the ones that left we will miss.

With 9 re-signing from last season, some of our youngsters stepping up and a few decent signings we will do OK.

With three players injured at the moment (striker, centre-mid and centre-half) it may be a shakey start

SteveNBFC - I don't think Dobber was being critical of New Bradwell St Peter in the slightest, it just seems you are being a little over sensitive. I've had some contact with Steve Orchard since he left the Club last year and the impression I got from him was that although New Bradwell are a nice Club to be at they are always going to struggle to fulfil their potential and I think he often felt that he was banging his head against a brick wall.

So in fact you should be favouring yourselves to be contenders as you only suffered relegation from the BGMD1 by points deduction, as you say the majority of your team have higher league experience.

Even without the points deduction, we would have only have scraped survival by a few points and I feel that the standard of football in the SSMFL is very good. SL Midlands is full of physical cloggers and long ball merchants, we're looking forward to playing some football on some decent surfaces (Copthall excuded). I'd be pleased with a re-group and a top 10 finish at the moment.

I still maintain that Kentish Town won't be playing at the Copthall Stadium this season, I'm more than happy to be proved wrong but I have a gut feeling that Grannies will start dropping like flies in the first or second week of September

Young Gun...I have a sneaky feeling knowing your sense of humour who you are! and I know you wuldn't have written that.

And Rhodes maybe the comment was directed towards the off field Management Rhodes and not me and my coaching staff. Either way Im not being over sensitive just fighting my corner as I believe I should.

One thing I do know peolple that use alias's and come on here and make sly digs are cowards. Rhodes I have had words with you but one thing I admire you for is the fact you dont hide behind a silly name and have the courage of your convictions to express your opinions. Even if I dont agree with most of them! But thats what a forum is about I suppose. My last post. Good luck for the season.

New Bradwell 2 2 Windsor & Eton (full strength first team)

With better Management maybe we would have won.

SteveNBFC - Yes I was reading the report below on the Windsor & Eton Website and it appears that you played really well, we had better watch out on Saturday. Thanks for what you said in your post and good luck for the long campaign ahead:

Dave - I wouldn't go as far as to say that, New Bradwell St Peter are a Hoddesdon Town in that they tend to flatter to deceive and struggle to go the distance, they ran out of gas the season before last in early to mid April if you recall due to a not big enough squad.
