Financial issues

Recommended Posts

Come on woody, its a valid question and based on facts, how are you going to balance the books? you have had to let go a number of last seasons players and therefore what impact will this have on this years performance with you claiming the south and west is harder than the midland?

Also will you have the funds to see out this season considering the 5 figure fee that was owed at the end of this last season?

Woody if you dont like facts just stick your head in the sand!

Who said we had to let them go?

Ben Porter left due to issues with travelling, Paul Coyne left to join Burnham, Mark Weedon left after being invited back as did Ashley Vine.

These players have been replaced with Steve Dell, Adam Dickens and Andy Shed with more in the pipeline.

We are also sortng out our advertising atthe club and that is bringing in some money, something we never really did in the past.

So I think our financial future is fine, but thanks for the concern.

Also, the clubs finances have never really been a shock to the supporters at this club, it's just that for the first time in a long time they are actually starting to look good.

If you are going to post some 'home truths' try and make it something that we are not already aware of.

I am talking about now and the future, not what happened in the past and cannot be changed - I never mentioned trancparancy or is that an issue that should be raised?

As Mal has said above you are needing to secure sponsorship and advertising as there is a problem now with your finances.

As for the players that moved on we all know about the mercenary set up at Burnham and money would have been a key factor in the move - Burnham (currently) have money and Windsor have had to tighten the purse strings.

What serious expenditure has there been on the ground other than maintaining the pitch - the main stand is falling down, the flood lights have a mind of their own to work, the internal car park is a mud bath and there is still no cover behind either goal.

Where would you be without the income from Bedfont Green a previously Slough?

You can ignor and deny my comments about your financial state, but if you look honestly at the sums you are only hanging on by your finger tips.

Oh and ST The floodlight problem was caused by O2 taking power they shouldnt of. We now have a seperate power source for the floodlights and were dealing with O2 a legal case.

We have more than 'maintained' the pitch. We now have the best in the leauge with sprinklers and top drainage system.

We also have a new training pitch with floodlights behind the far goal.

The main stand whilst old is hardly falling down!!

The internal carpark suits its purpose.

No need for cover behind either goals. Thats the last thing that neeeds doing in my view.

You mean other than the completion [including floodlighting] of the training area of which both MK Dons and Wycombe Wanderers were most complimentary. Please quantify 'the main stand is falling down' as I don't recall anyone being hit by falling masonry or anything of the like? The floodlights now have their own independent supply and haven't caused any problems for over a season other than a blown fuse which can happen any time. The internal car park may get wet but hardly a mud bath as you call it and it's still more than most clubs can offer whilst cover at the ends of the ground is hardly a necessary expense when we have more than enough standing cover on one side of the ground to accomodate our crowds [and way above the league requirements by the way].

The time to ask that question is when we don't have it but the obvious answer is it would leave us having to work even harder to secure outside income.

How can you look at the sums when [a] you haven't got a clue what the playing budget is for this season and you haven't got a clue what the club's income and expenditure is either ?

Whilst in the current financial state things may not be as easy as they once were I would hardly say we were hanging on by our fingertips, comments like that must surely be aimed at clubs without their own facilities who are totally reliant on gate income alone to keep their heads above water!

Maintaining the Pitch - one of the best surfaces in the league which has 2 clubs using it.

Main Stand - A) Slough don't have a stand to comment on and B) Beaconsfield's is a real beauty isn't it?! Might as well have some benches out as all the seats are nearly on the same level and are half broken!

Floodlights - Problems were out of Clubs control which a generator was installed for and also new floodlights have been installed on the training pitch.

Car Park - Not an awful lot of mud gets churned up from tarmac does it? also A) Slough don't have a Car Park to comment on and B) Beaconsfield's is a muddy old field!

No Cover Behind goals - So? Theres plenty of cover in the seated stand and far side terracing which has cover running the length of the pitch.

Is there anybody you don't have a go at just for the sake of it? You really don't give your club a very good reputation at all, in contrast to the Slough Fans who came along to watch our game on Tuesday and were a credit to Slough.

Just to put you right, the new Burnham Chairman said to the Advertiser:

"...... Gould told the Advertiser:

Andrew S burnham players have told us what they've been offered! A hell of a lot! This was before Gould had 'set a budget' so perhaps jarvo has egg on his face now? Who knows. Who cares.

Do burnham fans need a car? There wasnt many/any at the bedfont green freindly! Too far to travel?

Do you not realise your attitude is putting people off your club i have met a few people who are ex slough supporters who are fed up with attitudes like yours amongst other things and decided to go elsewhere.Maybe you could think about how you might attract more fans to slough rather than lose the ones you've got.
