Refreshing to here about Andrew Stauss and his gesture of sportsmanship.It would be nice to see some of that in football,

not sure in the cheating world of the premiership that it would happen but in non-league it does still exist.

Hope England are rewarded with a good win but above all a good game.

as much as I hate to praise to Australians I thought Ricky Ponting after the Lords Test was something football could learn from. His team didn't have the rub of the green with certain umpiring decisions, some players given out when clearly not etc, and to be honest that was fundamental to the team losing. But not once did he aportion any blame to umpires, he accepted defeat gracefully. Compare to football when a team loses to a penalty that shouldn't have been awarded and what is the usual response of a manager or players "The ref cost us the game" etc etc. I personally think football, at all levels, could learn a lot from the sporting nature the Ashes has currently been played in.

One does have to admit the England squad system is performing well.

6 batsmen including a batting wicket-keeper, 4 seamers, 1 spinner, 1 umpire... it's a winning combination.
