So how big is the silverwear ?

As it appears the ramsgate friendly is being promoted quite heavily as a cup competition-has any body cast eyes upon this most prestigious of cups ?

I thus have the following essential thursday morning questions:

Is there actually a cup?

How big is it?

is it made of gold/silver or brass?

Is it 2 inches tall or a bit like the European Cup and about 30 inches tall ?

Have ramsgate prepared their ground to acknowledge the winners with the mandatory firework, bunting and champagne spraying winners presentation area; complete with the requisite rendition over the tannoy of 'we are the champions '

(oh-and was this fixture arranged over two legs so that we can avoid exiting all cup competitions at the first game like we did last season-at least if we lose on saturday, we can at least say we had a run in the cup this time )

Yes there is a cup, there was a picture of it in the Ramsgate programme. As for size its not massive but its not small either.

As for Ramsgate preparing anything, as long as they prepare their pitch thats fine by me wink

3rd Answer Micheal, not nice but can see where you are coming from.

I think the original cup was stolen and was found in some bushes by a man walking his dog. Years later it was stolen again and is believed to have been melted down.

I seem to remember one year they couldn't find anyone to present it so the St John Ambulance men did the honours instead.

Pitch is looking great Alan

Okay I've had my silent period (no comical comments please l.o.l.).
I agree & have to admit, their pitch looked smashing last Saturday. Nice & green & cut well. Pity they still have the big dipper down the far end though.

Joking aside-credit and respect to the I of T Gazette for promoting and resurrecting this and to both Margate and Ramsgate for participating accordingly.

keep it calm on saturday-no injuries please to either side.

I know the games are pretty fierce for pre season but good to get a bit of competition before the real matches begin, thought ramsgate were pretty (no not pretty) reasonable side they should do well next season, and i think we are not lookin bad either, bring it on !!
