Absolutely Disgusted!!!!!!!!!!!

MummyBunny

Recommended Posts

I am so angry right now! My 7, yes 7!!!! year old son was tonight verbally abused by 4 ramsgate fans standing at the corner of the ground in front of the hartsdown road end - second half of the match.

He was being a ball boy and after margate scored, they took it upon themselves to take their frustrations and bad feelings out on my son.

THIS BEHAVIOUR IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I have reported it to our child protection officer and will be ringing both clubs in the morning as well as reporting it to the FA.

hmm ,im surprised you say that, all the ramsgate fans that go to southwood were by the floodlight down the other end,i would be disgusted as well if this were true, but i very much doubt it,probably a few urbos who have never been to a game before, dont tar the true ramsgate fans with someone you may have or not seen, because believe me i can definetly say the same about the behaviour of some margate people who arent fans of margate fc ,think before you accuse ramsgate fans, but thanks for the post,im sure you will get a reaction in your favour

I am very aware that it is the small minority that cause such problems. My son however, says they were rams fans and i believe him. Im sure that there are a minority of supporters of every football club that behave in such a way, however, in this case it is my son that was affected and i shall do everything in my power to fix it!!!!

In this case I feel that the TRUE ramsgate fans were well behaved and had the the game in play as the main focus of their cheer/frustration.... unfortunatly both Ramsgate and Margate have such unruly fans and they disgrace both teams in their abusive behaviour, however this doesnt excuse this to the younger and perhaps future supporter of either club.

i hope you do,my two sons who come with me to most games home and away are 7 and 8 and they love there football and were upset i didnt take them to the game,i didnt take them because it was to late for them,so they were in bed at a reasonable hour.Fortunatly they dont really understand the passion that arises in the local derbies as yet because i havent taken them too a margate ramsgate game as yet,but i have been in a suituation that involved my kids and other fans so i know where you are coming from.

Thanks Mick. I gave both my boys a special treat to come and ball boy for the game as it is the summer holidays and they dont have to get up in the morning. Wish I had left them at home now!

Please Mummybunny dont think that this or likewise any bad behaviour will again happen at HDP as there are many supporters at every game that are fathers/mothers that will NOT allow ANY sort of abuse be it on or off the pitch. As a club/team/supporter no-one should accept abuse (foul language unfortunately comes with the game) but we should and expect this to be a family atomosphere ergo an enjoyable and safe environment for one and all.

Thanks danny, i must admit that this is the first time that this has happened and the boys have been ball boys for most of last season without incident. I just upsets me, thats all. If it had been my eldest one then he would have given as good as he got but the youngest is not up to that kind of thing. Im sure he will be ok. Am gonna get a description of the men tomorrow when he wakes up cos he was too upset when we got home so i will let him sleep on it.

I hope such an ugly incident will not disuade him from further participation in supporting/aiding MFC but if you feel it isnt worth the heartache/detriment then I can fully understand your reasons for withdrawing their support/aid. However I hope that you will endeavour to see past this and continue to support the mighty MFC. smile

i am sure that he will want to come and support/ball boy again. He loves football and plays for the team so i dont think this will stop him. I will however now be standing near him on the sides and not in the stands where i was!

Thats unfair to tarnish all ramsgate supporters with the same brush CE. The majority of the them are fine and just come to watch the football and enjoy the match. Unfortunately, as mentioned before, there is a small minority who give them a bad reputation.
