Tonight's result as it doesn't appear to be mentioned here at all. Very strange - maybe something's up with my computer as there's no posts at all tonight about the game.

Just in case, our line-up...

Mullin

A.Beech (subd Taylor)

Robinson

B.Lewis

Young (Wheatley)

Haverson

Lacy

Wilson

Blackman

Dave Cory (Pratt)

Morris (Axon)

Goal came in 2nd half, excellent solo run from Curtis Robinson and his shot seemed to be deflected in by Lloyd Blackman. 505 there.

fantastic goal to wake up a drab game , the goal should go to Curtis even though it flicked in from the underside of Blackmans foot .

A few leg braking tackles coming in after the goal that should`nt have happened , we got two yellows and Ramsgate should have got a red for a diobolicle lunge at Axon , two footed and should have gone but ref bottled it .

By the way alright TONY

Up the Gate .

just got back and the only highlight of the game was Curtis Robinson taking on three defnders and beating them with the classs he obviosly has, whether he will stay with such a luck lustre team as MFC is in the hands of TY/NS but I realy think he is worth every penny we pay him..... until his run it was typical local derby - ineffectual and boring - enough said.

Did any one play particularly well for Margate ?

Did Beech do enough to get a contract if offered?

i assume it was Jo Taylor who came on-how did he do ?We may well need a bit of muscle up front ?

Micheal as an excile the game will probably be summed up better later on but as Ive just got in I will say Curtis Robinson is/was our best player by far today. Ramsgate deserve credit for bringing the game to us, however in the second half both teams resorted to hard fought challenges some of which were questionable. Not a game to remember but what local Derby ever was!!!!

The ref was terrible! One of the linesmen had to come on to the pitch to move a wall back ten yards for a free kick - that's the ref's job, btw - and after the hideous tackle on Axon, some of the players started on each other, the ref wandered off, and that same linesman came on again to pull them apart! The ref was sh!t!

But Curtis' goal was great...

I enjoyed tonight apart from the result, I thought first half was fairly even although dont think either side had a shot on target. Thought we dominated the first 20 or so mins of the second half, shame we couldnt score though. As much as i hate to admit it that was a brilliant goal! Twice ive seen curtis robinson and he looks real quality, your do well to keep hold of him. Couldnt really see from up the other end but was that a good save our keeper made just before your goal?

I,m away sat for a couple of weeks so will miss the game but i will only say this once, GOOD LUCK FOR THE COMING SEASON, THANET NEEDS TWO TEAMS. All the best.

Sam Jones was skilful but because he wanted the ball all the time he was going deeper and deeper so in the end caused us no real problems.

I think last night also showed how much we miss Joe Healy who links up well with Wilson and the forwards.

.

Arguably a valid point about widemen-but for me-as 85% of the play goes through the centre midfield-you need to concentrate on having your strength in centre midfield and play the 'percentage game';so i reckon the way the Margate team is set up is about right.

Widemen drift in and out of games, and usuallly ,their crosses at this level are either useless,or the forwards are not good enough at this level to get onto them; so whilst i can see the theory-in practice-at this level -it never seems to work out (case in point for ramsgate last night-where it seems Jones did well-but not converted into goals )

For me-play the percentages and concentrate on controlling the game from central midfield )
