2 players started the game who started on Thursday (it would probably have been three had Cousins been available)

Conceded a sloppy early goal giving away possession in a bad area. I'm all for playing football but not too much in our own third please.

First run-outs for Flack and Baker and I thought Nikki Beale had a much better game than against Stortford. We still seem to have a long way to go though but nothing really matters until we get to play Wealdstone.

Now I am really worried about the Barnet game! I have a sneaking suspician that we will play like we did against Orient though. We often play to the level of the opposition, with the exception of Burnham amongst others.

Obviously a bit of a worry that we're missing our 'keeper and first choice centre back pairing, but good news that Flack, Baker and Semanshia all got to play. Not overly worried about the Barnet game as they're playing Southend the night before so I would assume won't be at full strength.

It's worrying that we haven't won a game. I know I've said that pre season isn't all about winning but it is a habit...as is losing and I think the lads would like to get at least one (or two) under their belts before the season starts.

I dont think mark clarey is the answer for tightening up our defense, thats for sure!! I think it will be a weakened Barnet side on wednesday and i can see our first win coming then..

Not too sure what can be drawn from this latest friendly, cept no love lost between Flackie and Mahon ! Think it fair to say pre-season friendlies are not (at times) a spectacle but i think the disappointment was that we only tested Mahon during the game (save for Flackies header on the bar) with a shot saved by his legs. I suppose the consolation is that we are not firing on cylinders (as yet) and in a way not (possibly) performing as we could may result in a flying start to season, lets hope so cos if these were league games we would have one point from 15 !

 

Onwards to Barnet. I would hazzard a guess that what-ever Barnet team turns up they will be physical which is another test.
