i dont think anyone is under the illusion that the side billericay started with last night will be the starting 11 come the beginning of the season. however it was certainly not a reserve side.

 

for a meaningless game against a meaningless east anglian side you are getting awfully worked up ryan.

Blimey...I didn't realise what a massive scalp we are. I wasnt happy with the result even though it mattered not (to us anyway) But if we can spread a little happiness along the way all well and good.

I dont know why everyone is getting so worked up. Its a meaningless friendly and Burnham treated it as a cup final which if anything is showing us respect saying we are a big club. We had some good spells and a few bad spells but you are going to get misunderstanding when you play a side that has never played together before and full of youngsters coming through with exception to cousins and shinn.

Thanks pal... it was a MASSIVE scalp for us, and we are going to enjoy the moment. I think it just gets up people's noses when teams claim they fielded a reserve side, game didnt matter etc etc, instead of giving a fair reflection and admitting they were fairly and comprehensively beaten. There were enough 1st team players on show to merit it being a good win for Burnham - and despite what anyone claims, everyone wants to win every game. I certainly wouldn't wanna lose to an intermediate side. Also, suggestions that players were deliberately injured is out of order - as if players do that in friendlies!?

Anyways, as mentioned above by others, im sure Billericay will be a different side come the start of the season and I expect them to be a strong team in the Ryman Premier. Best of luck.

End of the day, it was a nice result for us. You are two leagues above us, and expected to roll us over. You didn't. You got pumped.

 

Results don't matter pre-season, thats true, but after a little bit of baiting, it seems to bother you lot!!!

 

You say it was mainly reserves that played? Just worked out that 14 of your 17 man squad that were involved against Braintree, played against us? So did you put out the reserves against them as well???

Personally, I don't have a problem with the fixture. It's always been meaningless but enjoyable and on so many different levels (other than the football and the insects - doh!!!).

I'm not sure if you all need to grow up or just drink

a strong pot of coffee!!

I was at the game last night, and what really happen was this!

Billericay' no matter how you cut it, you were poor! friendly or not!

And as for Burnham ? well! you played really well, But make no mistake! if you live in the land of OZ, then trust me, you will remain in the Essex Senior League with all the other Dreamers!!

Well said buddy!!!Tell them to keep their feet to the ground...the ESL is a much tougher league than Ryman Prem(that's why some players have left Billericay and joined the megabucks ESL) these days and as Del said:you don't get 3 points for winning a friendly!!!
