Wycombe 4 - 0 Windsor

Another enjoyable game on what has to be the finest pitch in non-league football.

I thought we played pretty well again last night especially in the first half when I thought the 2 teams looked pretty evenly matched. In the 2nd half a few of our players seemed to fade meanwhile Wycombe made a load of subs with their superior fitness levels and clinical finishing being the difference in the end.

A Quote from Peter Taylor

"I'm pleased," Taylor told Wanderers World. "I thought Windsor did it right. The pitch was good and there was the right amount of tempo and tackling. I wouldn't hesitate to come back."

Would be good to get them back year after year. Playing against strong sides in pre-season can only help the young players learn the game.

We did okay in the 1st half, but in the 2nd we were thoroughly outclassed. Which is not a surprise considering the quality of the opposition.

I thought the turn-out of W&E fans a bit disappointing to be honest. Still, I suppose people don't like paying full price for friendlies.

I think it just showed we have a very strong, if slightly small, squad of players. Wallo looked a lot fitter and sharper, Chenns looks a lot stronger and Shed looks like he could be dangerous as well. We have some depth in our defence and we still have willow to come back into the midfield if/when he recovers. By playing two good League 1 sides those players get to push themselves a bit harder and further than playing a friendly against a team at our level or just above maybe. Be a real result if we can get them badck again and again, thought both sets of fans were pretty good too and would come back. The crowd size was a bit disappointing, but it is in prime holiday time and some fans will be convinced no first teamers will be playing so won't bother. The lack of local support from our local paper has contributed as well, but that is expected unfortunately....
