Programme Info Please

Recommended Posts

Evening all.

Slowly getting to grips with this programme lark but I have a couple of questions if you can help please ...

Complimentary Programmes

How many free programmes does your club give out?

I've been asked to put some in each changing room, some for the match officials, and of course several in the board room.

Right now I make 20 cover this requirement.

I'm not sure if there is an official amount the club must give out, but of course providing some is a good gesture.

Programme Charge

How much is your club charging next season?

Last season we charged

ok mate i look forward to reading your programme and despite being an official i will pay for my copy,by the way remember when the league starts two pages of your programme will be taken up by the leagues 'centre spot' publication.

keep it simple at first dont try anything too revolutionary, something i do is contact the away clubs supporters and ask them if they want to contribute a page, theres a chance then that the person who has contributed this article might then buy 5 copies.

In regards to programmes in the away team changing rooms, as a player i would probably say definately no more than 2... i even think one may do the job. If it costs you money do not waste it on us players! If they players want to read one after the game I'm sure a member of the commitee will lend them a copy from there allocation.

After seeing my efforts v Leyton end up in their dressing room bin, you've convinced me to reduce the away teams even further!

Don't bother with more than 3 programmes in each changing room. The players will just read their names (if they are capable of doing so), see their pictures and then put it down.

Also, in all respect, last year's 'mediocre effort' was produced by a heavily disabled man who took the job on, very reluctantly when the previous editor sadly passed away.

Make sure I get one for the Manor changing room....I have only missed programmes from maybe ten games in 9/10 years of playing in the ESL!!!!!!

Still got them all in boxes in the loft -

JP21: Not sure if you are Jack Pridmore, but I acknowledge what you say and of course i'm sure that the club were greatful for what Ian did (and I can testify myself that it is hard work producing a programme), it's just that by charging

Unless someone from the club 'officially' tells me otherwise then that's what i'm going to do. Right now, after several weeks re-working it, i've got it just right and would have to chop something to fit that in.
