Well, the answer to my own question... they brought a really good number of fans down, but the most I heard was some clapping for their earlier goals.

OK, I was standing near the opposite end, but didn't hear a cheer or a chant.

 

At least they came.

 

BTW for anyone reading Windsor lost 4-0, bit hard IMO but 3-0 would probably be the fair reflection. We looked reasonably good, had some chances... but 5 divisions' difference really showed.

Its funny, all Windsor fans seem to have their professional team and then Windsor. Its like you watch your pro team as if it is some kind of fantasy football and then you come home to Stag Meadow to watch the real thing. i would definitely rather watch Windsor than premier week in week out, although an FA Cup game against one of them would be nice.

If Windsor ever reach the dizzy heights of the 3rd round FA cup and get drawn against Man Utd, i'd be in the red and green end as apposed to the Manc end!

 

Non league is a not so hidden gem, ever fan in the country knows it exists. However they have not yet quite discovered what a gem it is.

You make a good point there Hovis. Everyone knows who their local non-league team is they just need a bit of a shove in the right direction.

 

A good FA Cup run is long overdue and could possibly be that something that sparks the local community into life and gets them interested in their local team. Look what a good run in the cup did for Woking all those years ago, it was the making of them, until then they were a similar sized club to what we are now.

Not me; and if asked I just say Windsor. Annoys the hell out of people who only support teams on TV, they're not always sure if it's even a real team, and once that's established they look stupid trying to claim bragging rights

Anyway, I'm not sure those teams you see on telly really exist. Man City buying whoever they want, that's the Fantasy Football!

Mrs Cat, you are so right, also look at Lewes,a few good cup runs and they stormed up the league. Just to get a football league side down at the Stag would be enough for this season, oh and winning the league.....

Nope i dont support a FL team.I look forward to the day when the non-league pyramid divorces itself from the four divisions and let them get on with running their own business.While the non-league and the amateur leagues can get on with the important busines of playing football.

The higher up you go the higher you want to, risking getting into debt and liquidation in the process,conference south for windsor and no more,not that stag meadow would be up for anything higher so thats good.

It does make me laugh when people ask who i support. Always Windsor first and people ask me what leauge we'e in and are amazed the leauges go so far down! Most people once they get into it down at Stag Meadow they love it.Look at Hovis. Turned up at the QPR match drunk as a newt and now look at him...the token Manc!
