Well Billy Bear would be the choice (just for the fun aspect). I remember those bears being sold too. Were certainly popular with the kids.

 

Now, again totally offshoot to this thread, but a simple suggestion...

 

We have a flagpole on top of clubhouse..Could we (perhaps) engineer a flag to flutter - Adds a little charm to the place wouldnt ya think - Anyone out there good with flags ?

Of course, it was investigated but the problem was, who would wear the suit.

What about a 300 foot flag pole (complete with aircraft marker light for the evenings) for restored norwegian flag? There'd be no excuse for the good folk of Billericay not knowing where the club was then, and perhaps we could get it doubled up as a mobile phone mast (generating some income) and get decent mobile coverage across the whole of the town too?

I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong here), that we investigated the possibility of a mobile phone mast and the council wanted a sizable cut of the income...

But we do, as Keith mentioned, have a flag pole...We did have a flag as well. It doubled as a gazebo at one game when it p*ssed down with rain. What happened to it? Or was it the Norwegian flag, on loan?

A flag sounds good, and yes I would give the mascot a go, but I am not a very good extrovert! But I wouldn't suggest it if I was not prepared to do it.
