Player News

The players who have signed registration forms so far are Mark Blackburne, Stuart Blackburne, Ross Edwards, Rudi Hall, Andy Jones, Paul Marks, Craig McKay, Vincent Rispoli, Antony Stockman, Fabio Valenti, Adam Wallace, David Walton and Chris Wild. More are expected.

Good info on the website, can anyone give any further info on the above players? Playing positions, previous clubs etc...

Stuart Blackburne - think he's a goalkeeper.

Ross Edwards is a left footed centre half was with Fulham as a kid. Played at Waltham Forest under Danny Honeyball 2 years ago and then was skipper at Leyton under Steve and Del last season.

Fabio Valenti - also at Leyton last season at least for a spell. Attacking midfielder.

Adam Wallace - There was a Wallace played for Steve and Del at Edgware was a deep lying centre forward who set up more than he scored. Might be him.

From what I can see the ET squad ( Ryman league ) is going to be made up of mostly spartan league players. Surely most of last season's team should be retained obviously getting rid of players who were playing for the wrong reasons. What has happened to promoting the youth, Billy Healey quite a regular in the 1st team,- did very well, quite easily the best forward ( received 2 awards),Jason Holmes( product of youth, received most awards at last season's prizegiving for both the reserves and u18's and making it into the 1st team, Ricky Stoyles - quick strong player not given enough opportunity but invited to the squad. Youth system, what youth system. I feel if these players arn't signed they will move on to other clubs which will be a loss to ETFC. There are others as well that deserve a chance. To me it seems like players are chosen on who knows whom and not on whether they are the best for the position. Good luck, I think we are going to need it.

Possibly the most ill-informed and negative post of the year.

All of Steve's signings have played at step 4 before, with Edgware and/or Leyton. Billy and Jason are still around - both played Tuesday. And last season's team finished in the bottom half, so on what grounds would you want to retain most of the squad?

To be fair, most of those players won the spartan with Edgware and took them to the Ryman 1N play offs the following season. Edgware folded then the managers went to Leyton and they followed them, I believe Leyton beat you 4-0 at home last season. Southport's last game?

When the managers left Leyton and went to WGC the majority followed again and took them from 2nd bottom to 9th on a cabbage patch of a pitch.

You are always stating you want loyalty to your club etc, well these set of players are loyal to their managers. If everything works well, you should be well on for a play off spot next season. If it doesn't - well, how many players did you use last season?
