Was this Silman in the red boots? - must admit I had trouble working out who was who amongst the new faces

We played very well in the first half, particularly in the build up to the 2nd goal. We fully deserved the lead at half time.

For me, the match was even up to the point where a shocking offside decision went against us. It was a chance for us to make 3-3, but instead the bad call was made, Grays went up the other end and got the penalty, and that was the end of the match as a competition.

By the way, no sign of either Roberto Corbishley or Louis Smith on Friday/Saturday. Does anyone know if either is now officially match fit (& if they are) whether they're looking at other options (trialling elsewhere) as they're 'free agents' ?

Louis was there warming up Friday - thanks for the i.d.'s on the triallists. I'll add sample pictures to the match photos now I know who they are.

I was impressed by PHIL CARPENTER-just from warming up you could tell he was a proper keeper.

Particularly liked the way he distributed-kicked on occasions and threw out on occasions-a couple of times he threw out quickly to get attacks going and showed good awareness of 'who was where'.

Also he knew when to catch-which he was able to do without dropping it,and when to punch.

Like all keepers-he will make errors-but i felt confident about him-hope he is signed up-key position

I thought it was 5-2 ?

Again-starting line up did well.

The second goal with the build up play and the final build up play between Healey, Blackman and wilson was as good a goal as you will see anywhere all season-if it was in the premiership-they would have been in raptures on match of day.

Impressed by Carpenter .

Healey-very classy

Lots of versatility in the Margate side with Lewis playing in defence one night and midfield the next day.Morris playing midfield friday, then right defence, then central defence.Robinson even playing central midfield .

I thought Jo Taylor added something when he came on-held ball up well.Would like to see him paired with Blackmore in one of the psf's to see if that could work if TY does not get another quality striker

Looking good for a non spectacular but steady mid table season to me

I think Lewis could prove to be our best signing for a while, he's versatile and strong and seems to pull the team together well, he's certainly not scared of a tackle either.

Thought that the game yesterday turned after he was withdrawn.

Also been impressed with what i've seen from Blackman so far too.

Did not get to see the Carlisle game but saw the Grays game. From what I saw I impressed with the overall performance of the team. There are still positions that we need to fill like 1 Defender, Midfielder and Forward and then we should do well this season.

Keeper - Capenter showed he's confortable

Defence - you have to praise Haverson

Midfield - some influential running from Curtis

Forwards - was impressed with both Healy and Blackman

As for the trialists it was good to see Jon Silman. His speed showed and could be a good signing for the team.

A.Beach was the only other one I would sign.

Can not wait to watch the game on Tuesday.
