Brimsdown Rovers

Recommended Posts

I see Brimmo have snapped up Jordan Bostock and Rikki Burbridge. If they can keep Rikki fit he will be a great signing and Jordan is a quality player (with the best mobile phone number I have ever encountered).

Are Brimmo going for it this season? These signings show big ambition from them.

Wader - You obviously didn't see my earlier post about this on another thread

Rhodesy I have to say I didn't. I don't look in here that much nowadays, but the St Mags road crash was of interest for a while.

Marc Sontag is yet another good signing for Brimmo (I got his brother Lee off a weighty charge at The FA some years ago).

Anyway, with all this going on at Brimsdown I think they deserve their own thread grin

Wader - Thanks for creating a new thread, I did look high and low for a suitable Brimsdown Rovers one yesterday but the only one I could find had been locked. Perhaps Hollie will come on later if she was at the Takeley game last night.

Rikki Burbridge is described as the biggest signing in the Club's distinguished history in this local press article:

Agreed. Bit like Craig Hammond. Happy to score goals for fun in a league that he outgrew years ago.

Still, whatever floats your boat..........

Not at all, Craig is a different kettle of fish all together and he lives and works in Royston, a stones throw from Garden Walk.

What's that got to do with whether he's got any ambition or not?

Horace - You have to go where the work is in the current climate and Craig is also receiving a small wage at Garden Walk so it's not a question of whether he has ambition or not. He also wants to stay loyal to his home town Club and another 35 - 40 goals next season should be enough to secure another promotion.

Hammond could earn a good wage in leagues much higher than the SSMFL. The fact that a number of clubs, including Cambridge, have touted for his services in the past proves this.

But no, still he plies his trade in this neck of the woods. He's talented, no doubt but I'm afraid he's also got no bottle. Happy to be a superstar in this league rather than play higher and risk his reputation. What a waste!!

Jonno - I expected a post like that from you however, like I said earlier, in this day and age of such uncertainty Craig Hammond doesn't want to put all his eggs in one basket and risk everything, he is more than happy to bide his time at Garden Walk until things settle down, possibly until we get a Conservative Government in April or May next year when the current financial climate will hopefully improve.
