MK DONS

if you both knew anything about football you would know that the ban on supporters avoiding MKDons is in the past, when MK gave up their rights to the History of wimbledon to be exact, Duke of york why didnt you stay and support the real enfield instead of setting up your own club, sounds hypocritical to me.

There was never any 'ban'. As part of the return of the honours of Wimbledon FC to the borough, I believe it was agreed that the Supporters Association would stop any lobbying for avoiding friendlies etc. Winkleman was only too pleased to get rid of any trace of Wimbledon as he never had any interest in Wimbledon FC, just the League place. Why they have kept 'Dons' in their name I really can't fathom - I wish they'd drop it!

It's up to individual fans if they want to pay money to them, suffice to say it's something I will never do whatever the occasion.

Lecture over!

Well said hovis!

I have to say though (and this is only my opinion) but any league team that comes and plays a non-league team pre-season deserves thanks. Its games like this that raise the profile of smaller clubs, not to mention bringing in revenue.

Having MK and Wycombe pre-season has sent a real buzz around the place. After finishing by winning a cup now starting with two league clubs and conference south "local rivals" Maidenhead pre-season has really kept the supporters excitement from the end of last season going.

So put politics aside, support a small club and enjoy the football!

Indeed well said guys.

At the end of the day football is a business even at step 4 level and as a small team you would be mad not to take up the opportunity to play a league team whoever that may be. Hopefully we're get few people through the turnstiles which will generate much needed funds for the club. I say well done to the club for getting a couple of league sides down to the meadow pre season.

Although I didn't agree with the MK/AFC move at the time it seems to have worked out well for everybody in the long run.

Picture this, its 2013 and AFC Wimbledon's final game of the season is away at MK Dons, with both teams needing a win to secure promotion to the championship. TRS would you not be just a teeny weeny bit tempted to "give money to the devil" and attend the game??

I agree Mrs Cat. I wished it never happened in the first place but now there is two succesful clubs instead of one struggling one.

Put all that a-side...

Top 20 10.30? Carl and I are up for it. Will be a proud owner of a massive headache from the night before!

Been asked to put this up by an MK Fan

Internet station RadioMK launches a brand new sports program on Friday 17th July, the day before the MK Dons begin their pre season build up with a trip to Southern League side Windsor & Eton.

We'd like Royalists fans to join in on our first ever show and tell us all about the team you support. What's Stag Meadow like for visitors ? What's the food and drink like ? Tell us about your new pitch and all the work you've done for free at the club during the summer ? Who are your players to watch ? What are your expectations for this season ?

For more details click on this link

Hope to hear from a few a you

Thanks

No, I will not set foot in their stadium under any circumstances. In fact, I doubt i'd attend any home fixture either. My biggest hope is that we never have to play them, ever.

TRS I used to go to Wimbledon occasionally with a mate of mine and saw first hand how the club was falling apart. No ground no money no fans, how long could that situation have continued??

At least now you have your own ground, probably have more fans then before and have control of the club, unlike before. Not to mention the feel good factor of achieving many promotions and in all probability at least another couple more to come, anyway pro football is dead in this country it sold its soul to the devil SKY TV many years ago, you've been better off out of it.

I have to agree with you there Mrs. Cat... Since finding the non-league just last season, I'm hooked! Season ticket holder this season!

TRS,

You need not get so angry. It may happen one day. What's done is done. If not, get some therapy.

W&E, good job in getting MK Dons in to play.

AFC against MK? That'd be a sellout, surely (hmm. like the club was, one might say).

Seriously, surely 99.9% of the AFC fans would turn up in the hope/expectation of winning, or more to the point seeing their successors beaten...?

Hi guys

Quite a few MK Dons fans hoping to come down tomorrow and quite excited about it. Its the first PSF where we'll be bringing a coach which is an indication of the interest.

Our forums read with interest the fact that you guys were planning to meet up to do some painting and DIY midweek and our fans were dead impressed by that.

I understand we'll be bringing a few trialists but also some of our new signings and first team regulars. Also will be Ince's first game back in charge of MK so there should be a fair amount of press interest.

Where's the best place to get a pint pre-match and whats the pies like over there?
