tonights match

i thought Slough played the ball about better than on Saturday. you could see and tell that most the players had played together before and that really will be to our advantage early in the actual season.

DJ being up front can work with the increased likelyhood of crosses into the box now from Steve Sinclair and Herron.

also thought Dean Sinclair played well behind the strikers don't know if thats a place he has played before.

the fact Edgeworth hardly went beyond a slow jog and yet scored a hat trick shows what a class act he is

well done to Jemal in goal also who played really well i thought considering his age he made a few fantastic saves 1st half and hasn't done much wrong in the 2 friendlies

3 superb goals from Edgeworth.

Also, first viewing of Chris Herron who I thought looked a class act.

Still no appearance from Ian Brown who no doubt will be featuring for St Neots tonight against a Peterborough X1.

With Jacko looking like a long term absentee the last thing we want is to find ourselves scrambling around for a goalkeeper at the last minute.

I think we also need a quality forward. With Herron and Sinclair we will create lots of chances but not sure we currently have a player who can convert them into goals.

He can do what he likes in the pre-season. He has signed for us, has attended training sessions with us but unfortunately has been unavailable for the two friendlies.

He will be in the squad when it matters come August 15th.

any idea if Stevenson is going to be around this weekend as well?? Bateman stated on the official site update he was expecting to see him and Brown by the weekend games so i assume this is still the case. don't know much about him but hopefully he can be the tough tackling more defensive sort of player that the midfield needs

I heard you signed a tough-tackling centre midfielder named Derwayne Stupple formally of Bedford and Hitchin Town. As for Jon Stevenson - he changes clubs more times than he changes his pants!

I say well done Ian Brown. The guy was working saturday and could not make Tuesday obviously, so turned out for St Neots to get some match fitness. Good on him. Could have just easily sat around doing nothing the last week.

As for Derwayne Stupple, that was on the Green un website, but nothings been confirmed this end.

As for a striker, yes we do need another although still a lot of options with Yash, DJ, Bubb, Gumbsy and Bates has said he's looking.

As for Stevenson probably see him Fri or sat.

Let's give the attacks on players a break, for Pete's sake, we're two friendlies in and this isn't the Premier League. Players have other commitments, as long as they're in for the long haul when the season comes, fans should just enjoy the pre-season. We should be riding the optimism of the stadium plans as well as the squad Bateman is trying to assemble.

Reading Rebel, I'd suggest both Jordan and Romeo are capable of converting chances, Jordan scored many goals for a quick, incisive and creative AFC Hayes side, so with the right chemistry, there's no reason he can't reproduce that form.

As Gary STFC stated, players can play for whoever they like in pre-seasons games. Maybe there are reasons why he played for St.Neots like:

(a) He lives nearby

(B) He works certain hours/days and cant get over to Slough

for certain pre-season games

©. Family issues

(d). Any other reasons

Makes this thread pointless

Which does make it very decent of him to think about getting match fit, if he can not make it to certain Slough friendlies to do so (for any of the reasons stated above).

Plus, as supporters of the club we are outside any personal agreements that have been made between player and manager.

i was just pointing it out if he is just using those games to get fitness then great its only going to help us in the long run especially without any keeper over the age of 15 at the moment

lets get back to views about the Holyport match shall we??
