Pre-Season Fixtures List

Tokyngton Manor 1 Beaconsfield SYCOB 2 - A superb display from a makeshift Tokyngton Manor side missing a number of key players and bearing in mind Harefield United lost 5-1 at home to Beaconsfield on Saturday. The visitors started like a house on fire and when they took the lead on 15 minutes the writing looked to be on the wall however Tokyngton didn't lie down and equalised shortly before the break. Following the interval Tokyngton enjoyed the lions share of play and may well have taken the lead on a number of occasions however it was Beaconsfield who scored a late and undeserved winner.

I have to disagree on this one Cliff :0-)

Indeed Tok Manor were missing a number of key players but I would expect 7 of the team playing last night to start as part of the first 11 when the season begins. Beaconsfield were given far too much time on the ball throughout to pass and move. Tok Manor have a physical presence throughout the spine of the team which will do them well throughout the year but it was all channel balls as there main attacking aspect. The midfield wasnt involved and when teams who can play football come and visit Hanwell Town where the playing surface is normally perfect, Tok Manor will have to play a bit more football and bring the ball through the middle which from last nights showing not capable (although if they add the 4 missing players that may be the key).

I would say a deserved victory for Beaconsfield and plenty more work for Tok Manor (especially with regards to fitnesss) needs to be completed prior to August 8th. I expect a Top 8 finish if they can improve the squad as only 1 player of the 5 changes they made last night is good enough for this level.

That's correct - all straight reds! Two for Ware and one for Hertford. Mr Tweed stamping his authority following his promotion.

It was a reasonably strong side though with a couple of key players out injured and a couple of other absentees. Rolling substitutions were used so it was difficult to gauge the overall strength. It was clear however, that Ware had had rather more match practice as a team. That was possibly one of the major differences between the sides.

Yes that's correct, Kentish Town won 2-1. Do you have an interest in Hadley, the game with Tokyngton Manor at Parkfield on 26 August will be an interesting affair won't it.
