alot of clubs go for the short fix but imo you want fans to come over time and time again, you start getting kids regularly in the ground and even if 5 out of 50 on the day continue to support the club for life you have made the right decision

I agree. Saying that, Wakering did do at least two completely free matches last season, so they are attempting to build their support. However, I can see from their point of view that Southend at home, with the vast majority of people in the crowd being Southend fans, they'll be used to paying much more than

i dont think there is any quick fire solutions in building up ya fan base we know full well when we got 2500 fans supporting hx v posh and then where did they go,imo if they want to pop along they will if they dont then they wont on the other hand if the club are near the top then peeps will pop out, think i'm rite in saying midweeks games take a hit especially if the champions league is on and we had some shockers last season

don't completely agree,i think if you publicise the club as much as possible then you will always get new fans in.

I firmly believe that with the right publicity a club in our area in the ryman premier couldd be averaging over 500 every week and pushing a thousand plus for the big league games

I was always of the opinion that once the Premier League kicked in, Non League sides would benefit in the long run. However, with wall to wall coverage on Sky and even friendlies being shown live on terrestial TV, what inducement do local sides have for getting the youngsters to what they consider is a much inferior product and having to pay for it?

Whereas years ago the old man would take you to a local ground in all kinds of weather, we are a less resilient lot these days and dad would rather plonk little Johnny in front of the Box to watch Arshavin waffling about his dietary habits, as opposed to getting off their fat fvcking lardy ar$es and seeing a game live and for not a lot of cost..

There was no publicity for the games, the club tried something early in the season but i don't think that many people got involved in distributing the leaflets to the houses, also the problem is with this is that something through the door usually goes into the bin.

I think this will be one of the main aims of the supporters club,to promote the club and get as many fans as possible down to the club.

If people enjoy going somewhere for the first time they will come back again
