Sounds like i touched a nerve there, as i said i was just putting an idea out there which was the point of this thread wasn't it?

Obviously any ventures gonna incur some sort of expense and planning.

I was thinking of something small not Glastonbury.

I think you have summed it up there, Pagey, with the words "a lot of effort" and that was part of the point I was trying to make.

Over the last 20 years up here in SE London my wife and I have organised many events, off our own backs, to fund raise for charity so I can speak from experience on the subject. I can't honestly say, though, that we have been fortunate enough to do it with no risk or money up front.

Perhaps the example of Whitstable, and the format, could be used for Margate?

Thats why it is a shame Pagey left us, although understandable at the time, he has some tremendous ideas for fund raising.

can I just say I did email Marget FC regarding sponsoring a player just like I did at the beginning of last season over 3 weeks ago and to date have had no reply from the club. Ok I guess other issues may have taken over but

The Music festival is a great idea, a charity match is a great idea(tried this year, but given very little time, need to look at starting next week for next year, by looking at end of next seasons fixtures for both events), these ideas need time and commitment to implement. We have the contacts within the club to make both happen.

My idea of funding either event would in these trying times be,to get a firm/individual to put up the cash to have his or there name headlining the publicity. The financier would act as guarantor and at take a gamble that the event would work. When all the profits are counted then the financier would get his stake back, perhaps with interest if they needed to. the rest of the profits to go to the club, with a portion going to a charity? The financier gets the publicity as a reward. the charity gets its donation and we get the publicity off using its name, and the club gets much needed funds.

Most important thing of all it needs you guys, Pagey, Drummer etc to get involved , to put in the time and effort. It can as i am sure KP would like, be done in the name of Misa but needs far more expertise than the guys at Misa currently have.

Thank you for being specific.

Interesting set of questions, and certainly not for me to answer. I hope you will ask them direct of those in control ;who to be fair- i understand at various forums appear to have given supporters the opportunity to ask such questions in the past.

I must admit that i never realised that there was money raised by supporters towards stadium costs (i assume you mean a new'stadium' )and i would just add that bankruptcy is increasingly used strategically by many -businesses and individuals-and from that 're-structuring' some of the worlds richest and most successful companies and individuals have re-emerged
