We all as loyal supporters of Margate FC want to see the club continue and go forward. MFC has just under 12 weeks to find the final

I'm a little surprised that there has not been any fund raising events over the summer period. I believe the last event, the craft fair, was a success and would have thought that at this time of year would have been a good time to take advantage of the facilities and weather. Can anybody comment if MISA have anything planned?

I have agreed to run 3 Quiz Nites for MISA, but have to confirm the dates with them. These however will not raise enough cash alone and will require more support than usual to makle them a success. Dates will be published shortly

Quiz nights are all very well. But the real questions that need answering are constantly ignored.

To move on and progress big changes need to be made by the club and new owners are needed. Without that you can have all the quiz nights you want but the real questions will remain unanswered.

Already got the venue with licenced bar just need a few bands.

Unfortunately, i chose because of distance involved not to not make the 'open meetings'but i wonder whether these real questions (whatever they are) are asked at that type of meeting.

No Micheal they were not.

"Brickie". Music festivals take a lot of time to organise also, a lot of money. What type of music are you thinking of.

When people have tried to put on music and other events the support as not been there.

What is needed are things that can be organised and executed in 11 weeks and counting down.

Bands need to be paid so who will be the person(s) to commit themselves to payment of such bands (and PA, and advertising, security etc. I know everyone is trying to be helpful but the irony of all this is that we are talking about running events other than football to fund football.

festivals do take alot of time, but the rewards are massive.

 

This doesnt help now with the immediate money problems but its a proven money earner.

 

Drummer football on its own doesnt earn enough to fund football, you need other revenues

One idea would be to get the players' kit sponsored right at the start of the season and not towards the end as happened last season.

How about writing to the wealthy football clubs (ie the ones being paid over the top by Sky)& asking for a donation of football memorabilia(signed shirts etc.)? The results could be auctioned on Ebay so that it wouldn't be the same people stumping up the cash.

Why no new shirt this year? Surely a guaranteed money spinner what with the massive mark up on actual production costs.

Pagey, I am well aware that football on its own doesn't make enough to fund itself. Of course that being the case then perhaps football should look at itself and its costs etc.

 

The point I was really trying to get across is that initially someone has to put the money up for the music festivals. Who would risk that?

 

Its not just "getting a few bands" together. All too often people expect the bands to play for nothing.
