That was probably in the 1880s/90s when Scottish clubs used to compete in the FA Cup

In 1887 Rangers played in the English F. A. Cup – losing to Aston Villa in the semi-final.

 

In 1882 Marlow reached the semi-final of the FA cup where they lost 5-0 to the eventual winners Old Etonians at the Oval.

Sorry to be pedantic, Zealster, but they have commonality with a large number of other teams who have also reached the semi finals of the F.A. Cup. Manchester United, for example. Arsenal for another. Spurs. etc., etc.
