Maybe cos they groundshare at the Terence McMillan Stadium with London APSA, which means they have access to Step 5 facilities???

There are several Step 7 clubs in the Vase. Bucks Student Union, Codicote and Baldock Town Letchworth among them. It will be interesting to see if any Step 7 sides win their opening ties.

Also interesting to see Cambridge Regional College in the FA Vase as this is the reserve side of Cambridge United and they make no secret of the fact.

Not a bad draw for the ESL teams.

I fancy Enfield 1893, Tiptree, Witham Town, Eton Manor, Bethnal Green United and takeley all to make it to at least the second round proper.

Barking or Basildon will have a hard time against Royston Town.

Its about time the ESL made a proper charge at the vase

Yes - but a long time ago.....

How long since the ESL had a semi finalist? The North West Counties, the Western League and the Ridgeons have all been very strong over recent years, and obviously Whitley Bay have won it a couple of times in the past decade or so.

The ESL needs to buck its ideas up!

Once you get to the 1st Round proper, there are some very decent sides in the competition. What Concord acheived was pretty awesome in all honesty.

Saying that, I am sure Concord would admit that 7/8 home games on the bounce was a huge help aswell to them that year.

I doubt whether a Quarter Final berth will be matches by an ESL side for a long time although it would be great to see. Tiptree maybe, depends on who they sign etc!!

Deadbeat as a rush goalie would be a good start wouldntcha think! grin

Seems strange not to be discussing our participation. Did you find it like that last season CRFCB?

I think Canvey Island were the last semi-finalist.

The basic problem is that so many of the ESL's better sides get promoted whereas the other League's you mention have sides that are always there or thereabouts because they can't/won't be promoted. AFC Sudbury are a classic example. The only reason they reached three FA Vase Finals in recent years is because they kept refusing promotion (and a place in the FA Trophy) and remained eligible for the Vase.

Until the FA put their foot on AFS's proverbial neck!
