So it doesn't get lost in the haze of the Burnham thread, a suggestion over your watering problem.

 

Sorry if you have already thought of this, but if the funds are there have you considered hiring a water bowser - you can get a 10,000 litre one - see http://www.tandmplanthire.com/WATER_BOWSER.html. They seem to be an Aylesbury company, but there may be others more local - might get you out of the immediate problem!
