I'd suggest that the matches against the 'lesser' teams would, hopefully be good to raise morale, assuming we win. A programme top heavy with matches against Football team teams, be they full strength or youth/reserve mix, will only result in heavy defeats and a lack of confidence going into the season. I also think that getting pre season fixtures against such elevated teams isn't that easy. It's not just a question of making a phone call. I'd prefer to open our new stadium against the like of Arsenal/THFC et all, if possible, rather than now, as they are in such demand they rarely play the same opposition in consecutive seasons.

no, i havent been out. or got sunstroke.

btw the weather been great here, no thunderstorms.

but i am a little aggrieved that no one from our club had the decency to call deal town and say sorry, we cant play you.

after i got to know the chairman of the club and got his details, and he would have been delighted for us to go there.

partically when, margate, ramsgate, and dover all have ignored him as well. it would have been nice for 1 ryman club to play there.

i thought the club was run professsionally.

that why i am saying they are 2 bob.

I agree that we should play someone new for a change and even suggested a team that where the chairman would love to play a game against us but it is far easier to stick to the local contacts every season.

hate to state the obvious, but we are not, EFC, that is.

They were one of the biggest teams in NL, as we know, so most other clubs would be delighted to see them.

Our current board appear to have little if any contact outside of their own tight circe flowersmile

or just maybe very few teams want to play us?

However with GB coming on board, if they can keep him , I am sure he will be able to widen their contacts, IF they are interested.
