Bertie Brayley and Danny Hockton

We're looking forward to the seeing the above up front in partnership for us next season as we signed Danny last evening. I know both players played for Margate but did they ever play together for Margate at the same time and if they did how would you rate their partnership. Thanks.

In fairness to Bertie-it was the inept Margate manager at the time who had no idea of how to manage people that may have caused most of the difficultis with BB.

Bertie is proven for you anyway at Chelmsford so you know all about him .

Just have a feeling that DH is getting beyond his sell by date and is now on the downward slope. Apparently he does'nt get any thinner either

yes i do remember berti throwing his dummy out, but as quoted above i do feel it was a clash of personalities between berti and manager but never the less when he was good he was very good and them goals at wimbledon were brilliant, would be nice if we could get jay saunders back

I think you are both living in days gone by, CK was and I repeat "WAS" a good manager, but he became stale and unimaginative in his thinking. Im not saying he didnt do our beloved club good cos that would be totally untrue but lets move on fellas, we have what we have and players/managers gone are not the things we should be debating. TY I have more than faith in I feel that he will turn this club around and push us forward...... and in a previous post we just need to give him that precious thing called "TIME".

Nicely side-stepped Michael, but Mr Trott was quite intolerant to the behavior of BB. He played for the first 3 games of his tenure, then missed the final 2 due to a suspension earned on CK's last match in charge.
The next season he only made 1 sub appearance in September after missing pre-season & the first few matches of 06-07. He was then released to go to Eastleigh (where he flopped after 2 games, then re-appeared at Braintree).

Sadly CK had lost his magic touch in the Ryman League and took 2 big salary gambles to try to reverse a poor season, the first ... signing Brayley ... didn't pay off (5 goals from 22 games) whereas the second Hockton (8 from 13) was a real winner.

Quite how this has developed into a discussion re:CK is interesting .

No sidestep needed superblues-there is no direct or indirect reference to CK in my postings

For the avoidance of doubt:

Imo CK was the most excellent of managers;

I thought i was quite gentle and conciliatory on Mr Trott by merely alledging that he was inept.

Never mind-less than 22 days now to the first friendly and we can really get going on proper footie matters.

In the meantime-is'nt there that great spectator sport of beach volleyball for you lucky locals to enjoy this weekend

Up the 'Gate

Unfortunately Brickie-i think Jat committed himself to maidstone again a few `weeks ago.

The best midfield player i saw last season was Paul Shave of Boreham wood-but he is similarly committed to them again, i read.

We need that experienced central midfield player though imo-more so than a striker even
