Interesting night on 4th august.

 

Good balanced set of friendlies imo.

Just wish we had one against a conf south club.

 

Maybe its just me, but always get a bit concerned when you read of lots of triallists etc etc.

Makes me concerned that there are few actual contracted players ;and yet again we will be 'preparing late ',and seeing who comes through the trials

(which is usually nobody ).

 

Hopefully i am just seeing spooks and spin that is not there at all

 

I guess the converse is that it could just unearth a real gem-does'nt happen often though in reality.

In general, the psf's look just a bit tougher than last season;though to me; psf's give absolutely minimal guide to league form.

 

Intrigued by the dual games on 4 August-which one must assume is not a reserve game.

 

will TY take one game and NS the other ?

My understanding is that mixed squads will be in action on 4th, in part due to the high interest in playing for MFC.

Even though we aimed lower last season, we did get Mullin, Robinson, Stubbs & Wilson through the trials, though we did sign Michael Power from them too!

I think Robinson was our first signing before the trials;

and whilst you are correct that the others 'did trial' , were they not aleways on the radar from day one-i guess i'm referring more to the myriad of others who come and go.

 

Thats the nature of the beast though i guess-so i'll just lie back and enjoy it all.

Would have thought this would be an ideal precursor as a limber up before the Carlisle game.
