the place is dump now...sadly ..if he had just let us continue to use the ground , we would have kept it upto a reasonable standard and they would have had some income...but as you know rich people dont care much for the not so well off...

 

he got 47 acres of green belt land and we got a 5 year extenstion to our home we had built with our bare hands and fund raising...why could he have not allowed us to let us play there until he got the planing permission he that he is after..

 

On his side he claims we owed him money ....what for ??? he got 47 arces of prime land on the back of the football ....we got a few years free rent... big deal.....

Come on, Chris, would you have done a deal with Martyn Deaner??!! What Byron/Mayfair did was what any businessman would have done. The problem for us after we left was that people still saw Wexham Park as the solution when in reality, once the freehold was sold it was never going to be. Best thing that could have happened is for the place to have been bulldozed.

quite true Ian...but I have to say in hindsight the stadium shouldhave never been in the negotiations at all, we live and learn from this experience...

 

however Byron visited my house on many occassions wanted and willing the trust to help him in his fights with south bucks and slough council...sighting to me that the stadium would be saved and that he and his Dad would leave a legacy to the supporters .... sadly this never happened ...

 

as I said in hindsight we see things a lot differently..

anyhow..we move on ....and look forward to a move back into Slough , and where we can all move forward..and really put Slough Town FC in the heart of the town and be a part of the community..something that would have never happened at Wexham park, because we were restricted heavily by what south bucks cc ...wanted..

Disgraceful that it was a labour council that did the dirty deed at the time.

then again most of the mistakes in slough planning have been by them,i.e knocking down herschel's house,among many, idiots!!

No your wrong...on that one..they tried they very best to secure the tenuer there, but we held over a barrel ... things have happened ..now we move on please...

And John Tebbit still thinks the Thorne's were some kind of Gods in various programme articials as he saved us??????????????? God forbid Byron hated anything to do with the club and thats why we are at where we are now. At a crap ground where 90% of the people in Slough dont even know we play there, That is a fact and if i ever see another programme supporting the Thorn frauds then i will F------ R-- it up. That is how the majority of Slough fans feel on this issue.

I'm sure Glen and Brighton Rebel would welcome articles from others in the Slough programmes for next season - if you feel that strongly why not write a piece for them? As long as it's balanced and non-slanderous I'm sure the programme editors would appreciate it.
