Thought the Lions unlucky to lose. Ok, the SBs played the wiining gane well in the second half but the Lions had been unlucky in to go in behind at half time.

 

I was surprised by a number of things today. Firstly that the Ref let the SB loose head get away with drilling the scrum everytime and secondly that the SB took the No.1 off although that may have been due to the Lions draing attention to his tactics at half time (should have been more vocal earlier).

 

The other thing that really surprised me was the lack of a punch up.

 

Normally in a test series you would expect the firts or second scrum to erupt, and the fact it didn't speaks volumes for today's dciscipline. However,if I were the Lions Coach going into the 2nd half I would have said give it 10 then let's get at them. A good fight on the hour or thereabounts may have surrendered posssession but would have established a pecking order from which the Lions couuld dominate and put stress on the Sbs.

 

All in all, good performance, should have won, but may pay the price. I think we have the ability to win the remaining Tests, but it depends if the South Africans allow us to play.

Ha ha... sopt on YB, but there are still two more games, so I'd expect at least four sets of fisticuffs!!
