i would think the club will post a statement shortly. Bateman seems to have informed the papers about the signings though the comments are not directly about the players

 

the positions these players play all make sense in what we were most lacking in the squad:

 

we needed another keeper for if and when Jacko is not fit but still has to play

we needed more centre defenders to stop leaking goals

we needed an attacking midfielder having never really replaced Pritchard

we needed a left winger. we have had no real left winger since John Gray

we needed a striker to try and replace Platty

Just so you're all aware the information was given to the club first by Steve but you have to appreciate the guys who run the official website have busy full time jobs and can't always drop what they're doing to update the website. There will be a news story added this evening.

Five excellent signings at this level if you ask me.

 

No offence to Jacko, but I think a keeper has been needed for a while, much as I like Jacko, competition for the number one jersey will be great.

 

Defence really did need some work on it. Jackman is very highly rated apparently a combo at centre back of Harps, Jackman and Edwards should be good.

 

Left-side really has been a problem since Johnny Gray left as was pointed out earlier. Herron is a terffific signing.

 

and Sippetts scores goals. If we can get him Yash and DJ scoring we could be in for a good season. I think Sippetts is very much like DJ so Yash will be a very important player for us this season if you ask me as we will miss Platty's movement. We also possibly have Gumbsy, Tyron and Byron to come in and do a job up front as well to give us more movement.

 

It all looks very good on paper, but that's what we thought last year!!!

Good to see we're strengthening all areas of the team. Bateman is clearly no mug and realised very quickly what our weaknesses were towards the back end of last season. These five players promise to be great signings for a club at our level.

Just thought you may like to see this. By the way if you lot dont come up with any Stone Roses based chants for your keeper you may aswell give up!

he wasn't gave a chance back at slough when derek was there has manager and the only way forward for slough town is to get local talent in there and thay show how to wear your heart on ur sleeve
