I think he was refering to the charecter who is called "Phil Mitchell" not the actor "Steve McFaden".

So the point about acting is irrelavanat.

But the character "Phil Mitchell" is not known in Eastenders as an actor. It was just one of many things that the character Phil Mitchell can't do.
