The constitution for the new Central Division for 2009-10 was confirmed at last night's AGM as:

 

AFC Hornchurch

Aveley

Cheshunt

Enfield Town

Harlow Town

Hertford Town

Potters Bar twon

Redbridge

St Albans City

 

A club less than last season, and less travelling. Good news all round, I think.

Are they running a reserve side or were they just put into a different division because of the travelling?

Brimsdown have withdrawn from the Capital League. I believe there will be a Protec side playing Wednesday afternoons instead. Not sure whether they have any reserve team football next season.

Looks like a good set of clubs which will create 'meaningful' fixtures, should be an enjoyable experience playing for the reserves this season.

The thought of putting on a a pair of shorts and playing football again is a nononononono, I just teach it now. Apart from Hornchurch and Aveley the other fixtures are quite decent places to go too.

I was looking at the net position; the division has gained Hertford Town, Potters Bar, Redbridge & St Albans, and lost Bishops Stortford & Witham Town in addition to those previously mentioned. Nearly had Hitchin and Arlesley, instead of PBT & SAC!

Biggleswade have made a late application. Could be some re-shuffling across still to be done if Maldon decide not to compete, I guess.

I suppose the option of just slotting Biggleswade into the Eastern division would be TOO simple for football especially if Maldon do withdraw.

I suspect the CL wants to keep the wealthier clubs and will shuffle teams across. It's no big deal for Aveley to move to the Eastern, for example.
