Well to be honest it was the only factor to read peeps comments, but tonight without warning, no shout box,.. this is a forum on a down ward glide i think, cos now we no longer have Jane Cantos Nette or Dave's rambnlings no more,.... and as for the boy welsh wizzard, ( hallo Alan no more shoutbox, hope you had a great holiday ,.. no longer a reaason to log on to fans focus anymore, its pants now, 2 many changes on here, and for the worse... . a must to avoid.. maybe a new website, ,...and one that does not exclude Ramsgate fc,... as for months wanting to have our forum back, but our plea's HAVE BEEN IGNORED....good luck to a fading website,....././. should we care

its at the bottom of the page but to be honest shoutbox is full of crap nowadays with postings of bollox,i wuldn't miss it if it did go.

As for the forum,i don't see whats wrong with it,its pretty much the same.

(apart from my pages keep freezing after nearly every post for about 2/3 minutes)

I had that prob a few days ago.. but presume it was my wireless connection. Works okay now as this is wired up again, but will be interesting to see how it pans out when I get my newbie next week...

People always rebel against change when it happens, even if it is for the best. It takes us out of our comfort zone.

 

Maybe an explanation from Isn W to the Rams fans either privately or openly would help Rams60 feel less of an outcast? Hopefully it's because previously it was wait and see what league they'd be in. Now the delay because of the work involved in shifting clubs about the forums. Cant's see any reason why there shouldn't be a forum for them for the start of the new season.

 

Mental it seems has found the transition from highbrow 'Gash' comments or knocking all things Romford to a more diverse range of bolx too much to cope with

 

People generally evolve, as do forums. What was important last year isn't necessarily top of the list this...

 

Personally i've had a lot of fun on here. Lots of footy info which is what primarily brings us all here and a place to have a laugh and catch up with a wide range of people with similar interests.

 

There's room for everyone. Ian W is having his tweak for reasons known to him. Will it be here tomorrow? Will it be gone? Life moves on and it's not the end of the world...

Ramsgate60, I am very sorry you do not like any changes here.

 

The shoutbox was taking up too much space when people are vewing with both sidebars, espcially given the few people using it.

 

I thought Ramsgate have an alternative forum - so am wondering how much traffic one would get here? Please request one in the 'Forum Request' forum and I will see what I can do.

 

I am trying to evolve the site to attract new members to compete with other sites, otherwise I might as well give up and go home.

 

Not all changes will be permanent, and I am open to suggestions. As mentioned before if anyone thinks that they have a good suggestion for the site as to how things can work going into the 2009-10 season and beyond, please let me know.

 

If we do not change and evolve then the site will wither and die faster than any of us would like.

i think the shoutbox stops people contributing to the forums.

perhaps you should put it on the southill alexandra forum,thats what it seems to be used for.You could call it friends of southill shoutbox

I think you are correct about it taking traffic from the forums. The other big issue is that if we switch software they do not currently have a shoutbox as default.

 

Ramsgate60 - I have re-opened the Ramsgate forum - however it was previously closed due to a lack of posts, so if it gets used with useful posts and not just crap it will be okay.

Ian,i am still having problems with the forum.

I click on a thread and it takes 2/3 minutes to go into it,it does this after i have posted a couple of times and the process carries on,its doing my nut in

Okay - need to know the following please....

 

1) Operating System (XP, Vista, Mac etc.)

2) Browser (IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari etc.)

3) Version of browser (usually navigate to Help --> about in the browser)

 

Have you tried an alternative browser - http://www.getfirefox.com to download FireFox for example.

 

I assume you have tried clearing your cookies etc. and have checked your PC for any viruses etc.

Ian, firstly, i like to apologise as i think my first post was very harsh, and im sorry for that, you do a grand job here, and im aware how much time you spend on here,..secondly thanks a big bunch for re-instating the Ramsgate forum, i will endeavor to make use of it, as will others im sure, we have a Supporters meeting tommorrow (monday) and i will in form them of it, as an alternative to our Offical one, does it require a moderater, if so can i sugest Tony (Bigtw) and maybe Ian Sanderson and perhaps myslef,...keep up the good work , and thankyou. I agree with Mental. Shut down the box. It use to be fun...I think it's now passed it's sell by date.

 

Like if he says, people are using it just to swipe at each other nowadays.

 

He's now proved this can be done more effectively across the forums.

 

Mental, your computer problem is probably telling you to engage brain before putting foot in mouth again. It's a shame everyone seems to be in your firing line to take your present anger out on at the moment.
